Well done Karl, how many miles have you done today for the run in? I\'m betting loads! With a big grin on your face too.
Congrats bud, makes it all worthwhile doesn\'t it?
:Laugh LOL

Congratulations, mate! You must be well chuffed

karl_tate

cheers guys,

was a nervous drive to the MOT station lol

only done around 40 miles. few things still to do,

got to get the tyres put on the new wheels along with the spacers
finish of mounting the bumper properly, its a total bodge job
tidy wiring in interior and put panels back on.
sort the fittings for the light covers
need to work out why my windows wont work, bit confused about it really as i haven\'t touched any of the wiring for them???

finally give a good damn clean and polish and try and sort the nasty dent out :(

Excellent project thread i bet your glad its nearly finished and you can drive it again:Thumbsup!

karl_tate

cheers lee,

i have missed driving this car, well been tootling about in my mums corsa for the past 7 months lol

any way, couple of finished pics, well i say finished lol, got a few things to sort out and tidy.

fitted the new wheels with the spacers and im getting a bit of rubbage on the arch liner so have that to sort as well.

the clutch is bedding in nice as well nice, was a right mare at first.

ive also noticed that if i blip the throttle down shifting i get a bit more knock than under any other circumstances, could this be just down to the map??

also some times if i put my clutch in when slowing down to a junction the revs will drop to around 600rpm ish and then go straight back to normal idle??

just notices that the colour isnt very good in them pics, looks totally different, camera phone

looks superb mate!

Must be a dream to be back in it after 7months of corsa :D

You do get more noise when you lift off the throttle hence the high knock reading, dont worry about it happens on most FDs with big exhausts, the dropping down to 600rpm is partly the map and sometimes the idle control valve

Woo Hoo! The monster lives, the wheels look great now. Great news Karl, fancy doing mine now?
My revs drop sometimes when i dip the clutch, never bothered me bud.
But looking at the pic the car does look good, i recon you need some feed side skirts to finish the car off tho (btw this has nothing to do with the fact i\'ve got my feed sides fitted and I want a c-west bumper myself and am curious to see what they would look like together!)
Edit: have you not got a strut brace Karl?
:Laugh LOL

neil_jdmr

Great news Karl and the car and engine build look amazing, really really chuffed for you. I bet it felt amazing driving her out again for the first time.

I take my hat off to you mate for taking the time and effort to give it a go it is something i really want to do myself as i honestly think i would enjoy doing most of it when the inevitable happens.

Also its great to have someone local with rebuild experience to bombard with questions lol.

Like steven said are we gonna be seeing you at jne on sunday, think of all those running in miles you could do. lol
