And the rest - first posts say 650-700 was the intention..  If 3 rotor is 550bhp then that sounds about right I guess?

Big stuff really, quite something putting that down I\'d imagine. I think there are (approaching) 700bhp Mitsubishi Evo\'s in the Castle Combe series, but nothing RWD I can think of..

Will look forward to seeing this at Gatabil. Hopefully we can make it. :Thumbs-up

Trauma

The car made 470 at the wheels at the dyno today.
They stopped mapping at 8200rpm.
JT was happy with results so far.
Think they want to see how the engine works and perform, before going any further.

Making 50rwhp per 500rpm, so seeing 550 on the wheels at 9000rpm would sound correct.

Was told by JT that one on the forum here, made some video, hopefully he will post it up later today.

Anyway, Just had a quick chat with JT on the phone now, and he was heading for home.

This has been a big build, and I understand him not wanting to push it to far right now, wrecking the engine now just to get some big numbers, isn’t the way to go.

For us lucky ones that will see this car, and race him on track, we will be looking forward to just hearing the roar of the car.

Thanks JT for letting us rotary heads have a peak on your build.

PS
Nice bracket you got for your alternator.

that will be me eh is one about, i would have posted all the details earlier but my net was down, got a load of videos off my phone as mp4s so gonna upload them onto youtube now for everyone to watch, trust me this thing is loud and sounds just like a motorbike!

TURN UP YOUR SPEAKERS TO ENJOY

please be aware that people were walking past me alot so there is alot of phone camera movement, JT will have a proper video when he gets home

testing at 4000rpm to check everything is ok

testing at 6500rpm, as you can see by the torque graph its only light throttle

full revs, starting to tune it and a quick walk around to have a listen at idle

more tuning, up to 460whp, close up of pip working his magic

straight run

JT getting the full noise affect, 469whp was the best it did, he wore ear defenders the nancy boy!!

Early days though.. It\'s largely uncharted territory so is bound to take some working out to get the power.

Keep us posted on the figures.

Pip will get plenty more out of her ! Sounding amazing though.

not really for pip at WGT,  he ran his own 3 rotor PP race car 20 years ago.  ECU will be different though.

A lovelly piece of work
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

It will make 550-600rwhp once it\'s run in, and have CDI ignition put on it. And to be able to have a splitt timing map as well. DTA is making a software update for it during this year. As requested by pip.

The engine has about 3 hours of running now. And will be put on a silence quest, it needs to be alot more quiet for track days. Right now it\'s just plain out ....... loud.

Well as you guess im home, Just got in the door. And the score is Dodge Ram Moose 1-0

Killed a Moose 20 km from the norwegian border. The damn stupid thing decided to jump into the road straight infront of me. Quite difficult to stop almost 6 tonn of steel. With a bit of luck i only hit the moose on the butt, and broke it\'s hip. Damaged the left corner of the car. Drove it home after the acident. But half way home from the crash site, the intercooler burst. So almost no power in the truck. So that was interesting to drive the last 40 km\'s.

Good thing about it, that i don\'t loose any bonus, or hafto pay anything to get it fixed. As animal crash is free of charge :)

So gonna get the damaged apraised tomorrow or tuesday. And tell my insurence agency to pay me the money. And i will do most of the work my self. And buy all the parts from the US for about 1/3 of the price in norway. And then have a freind of mine, straigthen out what ever needs to be bendt out. And then repaint the entire car. As it got a few dings and scratches here and there. And i think will have alittle money left as well once it\'s done :)

But we will see. Think the damage is in the area of 6-10 000£

Never seen one in the flesh but Moose are pretty big! Have hit a deer in the past and that made a right mess of my car at the time so a Moose must of done a lot
As long as your ok thats all that matters :)

Hi,

Always a shame to be down on forecasts, and hope you have no trouble getting to the revised figures. You\'re in safe hands on the dyno, and can\'t wait to see the sheets.

Good news on the moose and that you\'re OK. At least compared to if you\'d been towing and your pride and joy was inverted at the side of the road..

Quote from: mattfduk;589238I am hoping to get near 550 at the fly with a 3 rotor:InLove

Pip was saying you wanted 700 fly wheel horsepower from it

I will be at WGT for that and at Oulton for your trackday!

Matt,

Has that 550bhp from a 3 rotor been done before?

Interested in working out likely power outputs from these multi rotors..

Yes but, that\'s with 60 mm throttle bodies, Motec M800 with everything and CDI ignition.  So he won\'t get that, most likely around 420-440rwhp

Interesting, must admit I thought 450 was more realistic.

Is is your ancilliary spec that\'s costing the rest of the bhp with yours too?

Of course we\'ve all heard that the 4 rotor Le Man engine put out monster power, but then noise requirements were different, and I seem to remember Dave Warner (WGT) showing me a sliding trumpet throttle body arrangement they used too.

We looked at doing it with my old engine (could have used the rev counter for a very basic feed), but I made the mistake of telling one of the organizers first, and it was banned before I got home. ;-)

The 787 Lemans had adjustable intake lenghts to work the power/torque powerband with moving trumpets in and out acc to rpm.
