Karl you should get the abrasive kit too so that your polishing will come up a lot better. Take a lot longer but it really worth it in the end.
I did all my engine stuff and it looks great now:D

do you have any pictures?? idealy i want to do the alternator and filler neck and tb but they are just too fiddly :2Rolleyes

I haven\'t done my alternator or filler neck, yet, but intend to some day.

its all looking good mate. is there a end date in your head yet?

would it not of been easier to paint the engine bay before doing the wiring? ( so you can get to ever part of the engine bay)

and how is the aftermarket fuse box working for you?

well i would like to back on the road end of march all MOT\'d,taxed and insured ready for run in. it would be sooner but i just dont get the time

well the plan is to get all the wiring sorted out so i know its finished but wont be mounting the fuse box up, thats pretty much the only thing that will get in the way when spraying the bay so its all good

i will be starting on the fuse box this week/weekend so i will let you know but its all pretty simple, i hope any way :2eek

It is a fuel cap isn\'t it? You said it was a wheel spacer, but it can\'t be. The holes dont look right

well got it all finally masked up ready for some paint

little bit of etch and then a good coat of primer

rubbed the primer down a bit and added a coat but the colour match isnt very good but i think i can live with it, we will see when i get another coat on when it has dried.

have only done upto the strut turrets so i can get the wiring finished plus i didnt order enough paint just incase it wasnt the right colour.

Wow its coming together nicely! Thanks for the info on the wiring too, off to do a few bits myself, it\'ll be ok since I\'m just pulling out all the stuff I no longer need. Your cable routing looks great though I\'ll have to take a look later this year at your handy work!!

went back out and got the last coat on for today and it looks quite good for rattle cans and my inexperience with spraying.

got the oil coolers bolted back in

unwraped all the wiring loom and started putting it back into place and put the bonnet catch back on. gave it a coat of silver too.

took the scuttle panel and associated bits off and gave it a good clean and rub down. lovely shade of red lol

thats all for today, hopefully get some time on it tomorrow as well, really need to start on wiring the fuse box in.

Well done Karl,
I\'ve been watching your progress with interest. I wanted to tidy up the wiring in the engine bay, but your skills are better than mine, (making your own fuse box etc).
Looking forward to seeing your car once its finished.

Keep up the thread with progress pictures.
