ola!!! jus got in form the cold and thought i would post some pics up of me mini project i have been doin the past few days, i recently fitted a full roll cage and there was clearly no room for peeps in the back so thought i would rip the seats out, then i had the idea of moving the battery from the boot to the rear seat area (in this thread http://mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53392)

anyways i managed to sort it all out so here are the pics

this is how it started off minus the optima battery tho

this was the empty space i had to work me magic lol

i\'d be a bit worried about having bare terminals there though..  reach across to get something and...

Not sure how loud it is although if it only comes on with boost it isn\'t going to be all that quiet anyway !

hey leeincivic,

is the -ive jus earthed to the car?

I wouldn\'t use anything less than 0 gauge.
I used cable with a cross section of 35mm squared.

You can just earth the battery to anywhere on the chassis - get down to the bare metal around the earthing point though. Mine is earthed to one of the points that\'s used to fasten the rear seats if you have them (I have bins)

thats great thanks :)
i read up on some posts that some ppl put a fuse in there also. is that really required and why is it best to put batt in a box?
incase it explodes or jus so its more secure?
cheers:wiggle

Definitely fuse the positive (as you have done) but there\'s no need to fuse the earth :).

Box is designed to prevent spillages, but they\'re not too vital with a gel battery imho.
