Its been a while since i posted as I havnt been racing much at all and weve had another little one. Blake  was born in May and is now taking up a lot of time but I love it.

Took the car out in April this year to Finish 2nd in class and 9th over all. Had a massive spin and bent a wheel on ! run so had to run on wets for the rest of the day. Not ideal but was very pleased just the same with the end result.

Got the car home and set about fitting C/R gear box,4.9 lsd, perspex rear window and taking some more weight out of the car.
Put the car on the scales and it was 800kg spot on with full tank of fuel.

The next event was in September and once again was second in class to the same Escort. Always the brides maid never the bride.

Unfortunatly I ran out of fuel on mt 1st timed run and this has had an effect on the engine. Basicly I stuffed it
The engine is now out and will be repaired in time for the next event April 2008. Plus Ive got some super soft hillclimb and sprint tyres comming for it so that will help as my tyres are hard compound that have gone off.

The engine is now out and with the engine reconditioner.
More power is to be extracted in an effort to beat the pesky escorts or sell the whole lot as its time to move on.
Some of you may know the bloke building the engine. ERA  aka Oldone. Top bloke and I TRUST him all the way

You gotta beat them pesky scorts before moving on mate-you won\'t sleep at night otherwise:D

Good luck with it all anyhow.

Engine is in bits and it has lost the chrome on the ally housings and some scoring and chatter marks. Massive loss of compression as well. Going for a bridgeport so keep those escorts at bay. Also got a 40ltr ally tank coming and some other bits for the next transition or evolution if you like.

Oh dear, Brian, new housings, then, eh? I make it my duty to come and support you next year!

Not payng someone else to do the work for you are you old chap??? I thought you engineered everything youself........
Now with added boost!  :burnout

I would but only I dont have time and Era will do a better job than me.
There is a task at hand for next year and that is to have the 7 beat a certain Escort and also claim fastest time of the day at a sprint in April. I was only 1.9 secs of it this year and there is some serious **** going on in the chassis department. Hence me busy with that while Era gets jiggy with the dremel.

Very cool!.. Not sure if many are aware, but the FB RX7 was raced along side group B rally cars in the WRC back in the day

Nice to see gen1s being used as meant.. Carl at Hayward is looking to prep me a gen1 to race in classics next year with a 220-240 port 13b.. can take 10% weight out and free brakes, shocks etc. XCan run +2" arches and plan is to use 17x9J rims to use Yoko A048s (control tyre)

I am building another car for a bloke.
Copy of some parts to mine but a bit more mental

Weight same as mine.     tad under 800kg
Engine, nearly complete, PP on injection
G/box                         Drenth 6spd sq
Diff                            Fully floating Atlas
Suspension                  Bilstien all round and adj on all for corners
Brakes                        Metro 6R4 discs and callipers
There is a wicked body kit on its way but i am not going to say what it is. I will show all when its on after it gets here from NZ...Made in carbon fibre.

The budget for this car is huge to take on westfeilds in sprints and hill climbs for  overall honours and run in the under 2ltr class
