Series one racing

The plan for nexr year is to do a couple of sprints close to home as they are 2 good venues and also get my race licence as I am doing all this on my rally licence. Then I will enter a full race meeting more than likley at Lydden.
There are a couple of refinements in the offing such as changing the final drive for faster acceleration,:eek bigger brakes from a gen 2 turbo,more reduction in weight, alloy 3 gallon tank, the list goes on. I was up at 6 this morning writing this all down in the garage. the wife thinks I am madder than the mad hatter from planet mad wearing a hat with "I am Mad" written on it

The gearbox is nearly out and Ive figured where to put the ignition box that was on the passenger floor. I am onto some big callipers but I think putting the lights loom in is going to be harder than I thought. never mind ive got 6 months yet. Might have got one for nothing off a chap who also embraces all thongs rotary powered and has a pasion for engineering things himself rather than paying someone else to do it. Ooops better stop having a dig here or it will be a big hole that I cant get out of.

things needed or on the xmas wishlist are

8x 15" 114 pcd alloys 8" wide
5pt harness
race seat side mounting not bottom
MOT
8 Tarmac rally tyres to fit those rims

I hope santa has big sacks:eek:
Money is going to be short next year so only 3 outings are on the cards.
A track day to get used to the car again
A sprint iron out any bugs
And a rally at Longcross to see how close we can get to the "proper rally cars"

Gearbox is out and so is engine. The engine came out as I found a small leek at the back of the sump gasket so as I was there I decided to get that sorted as well.
At the end of Jan I am taking the car back to WGT just to get the carb sorted and the engine checked over as per the deal with Pip. The carb has  not been touched since it went on early this year.

The oil leak is repaired and the flywheel comes off on the weekend. I have collected the 4 pot front callipers and I am trying to get an adaptor kit from CP Racing in the states but as yet no reply to emails and I cant get their number. Shame as its part of my crimbo present and :Santa wants to deliver it.

The car is all back together running gear wise but a large hole has appeared in the back where  I took the tank and spare wheel well out. That along with brackets and clips that got in the way and putting on the poly carb window has saved a massive 35kg. I have a small 2 gallon tank to fit and a very small adjustment to the race clutch and its all set to rock and roll.
Just have to blow the dust off so I dont get my sponge dirty when I wash it
