I noticed on the Abbeville trackday that once the car got down to about half a tank that I experienced fuel cut     It happened on a particular sequence of tight corners.

I do have an uprated fuel pump - think it is Walbro?  (fitted at WGT as part of a kit)

So i\'m thinking the solution is a Swirl Pot set up.

Where is it best to go to get one?  Can you get them from Demon Tweeks or similar?  Or specialist only?  I would of thought a Swirl pot set up is a Swirl pot set up so does not need to be FD specific?

And how much am I looking at to get it fitted?  Or supplied and fitted?

I know James / Stickers has the same problem so with two already in the market the potential for a group buy could be on the cards

Gurj has one in the Black beastie, it was fitted when he bought it though.

i got mine from reworx mark for around £150

it replaces the stock charcoal canister under the rear of the car and is a direct bolt in replacement.

you\'ll need another inline pump though to feed from the pot aswell as the one in your tank which will be used to fill the swirlpot

Yea it was already fitted along with BNR33 fuel pump so cant really tell you where to get it from or where to fit it from so kinda a useless reply on my behalf :rollin :rollin :rollin

are the horizontal mounted swirl pots any good as it could then be mounted in the spare wheel well and sealed in. i assume thats what you ment tony.

or better yet is there an in tank version available anywhere.

im also interested as ive noticed i can get problems when accelerating hard in 2nd with less than 1/2 to 1/3 tank.

I just don\'t like the thought of sharing a cabin with a big tub full of fuel. Particulalry in a shunt.

There are swirl pots that mount on the rear chassis, that are outside of the cabin. These are about the best idea, as you also wont hear the external pump that will be required.

The thought of having any of the fuel system inside the car seems a ludicrous idea, why would you intentionally put yourself it that situation.

Literally 5 minutes ago before I saw this thread I e-mailed this to somebody !

"Glad to see you are keeping the pot under the car as it horrifies me to see fuel bits inside a car with no protection between it and the driver, pull a pipe off an injection pump and see how much fuel it squirts and you would see what I mean".

IF YOU PUT IT IN THE CAR  http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZNxuk101YYGB%2526i%253D23%252F23%255F33%255F16%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank">http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_33_16.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0">http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D23%252F23_33_16/image.gif">

Nothing wrong with as long as it is boxed in and using the correct type of braided hose - i.e not 200 series hose (which most lines are made of).

You need to use 600 series hose for internal lines.  I have a ATL racing swirl pot with -8 oulet lines and using an aeromotive A1000 fuel pump/filter/regulator setup.

Push on rubber hoses are a definate no go.

AtomicRex

The 800 hose is the one that doesn\'t degrade, and so can be run inside the car.  Aston use it in their racing cars as standard.....looks the nuts and the one we will be fitting.  The 600 series is used for brake lines.

Tony and I were discussing this over the weekend, and regardless of what fittings you use....there is no reason to run your fuel cells, swirl pots, pumps, filters or anything else to do with fuel inside the car.  In an accident the swirl pot could quite easily rupture and you now have both 1.5 litres thrown into the car, and an 8bar pump spraying the car with fuel.

The best solution is to have it either all outside of the car, or under a nicely crafted fire wall.......Tony\'s good at these.

Indeed 800 it is - my mistake.... too many late nights I think.

I think it really depends on your car and configuration - my swirl pot is separate by an aluminium firewall from the internal compartment so it\'s no different that being external to the vehicle.

If you read the MSA blue book it pretty much states that any fuel system has to be separated from the driver by a firewall - a good idea.
