must be someone out there that does hydraulic fold down plates front and rear ? I have seen them on a few bikes in my time, bit pricey but I am "sure" they have their uses !!!

I dont have a front plate, no issues; and i\'ve been driving behind the plod plenty of times.

It\'ll probably be down to the local police force.

Not in a FD, but the last time I ran with a front plate in the window, I got stopped. :( He wasn\'t bitchy about it, just told me to put one on. Altho he did leave with the a "we\'ll not be so friendly next time" remark.

We\'ll see how the FD goes.. *touch wood* altho knowing my luck the same thing will happen.

Over the years i\'ve probably had the front licence plate in about 20 different places on my cars.  From not having one, to having one so small that it wasnt worth putting it on.

My favourite place used to be on the back of the passenger sun visor, so when it was down you could quite clearly see it and when it was up you could have some high speed action on motorways.

Anyway i\'ve probably been pulled for every position that it\'s been in aswell, i cant be bothered with the agro anymore so i have a cusco plate holder on my front bumper with legal(ish) sized plate.

The problem with the rx7 is that every bloody bumper hole is needed for something, if you have it offset one side (evo style) your blocking airflow to an oil cooler and if you have it in the middle your blocking airflow to the inter-heater and rad-hotter.....

Mines has been in the windscreen since i got the FD and never been pulled yet. And I have driven past a LOT of plod, (Who, incidentally, have been giving me some FILTHY looks as of late).

Looking forward to getting pulled when they say get it on the front - have a Veilside C2 so there is genuinely no place for it to go! lol
Work hard, play hard house :D

Quote from: gsb876Also while we are here whats the legal stuff over having a black platenumber with silver lettering ? seen a few cars with that type of plate and would look rather awesome on mine but is it legal ???? :Hammer

You are allowed these plates as long as its a dateless plate, pre 1940\'s or somthing like that, glad I\'ve got one :King

i been pulled over loads of times for having no front plate, but now i have one on the front of the car and i have the bracket set so that the plate is facing the floor and therefore not restricting the air flow or spoiling the front of my car., so everytime i get pulled now its "bolts must have gone loose!" lol

this is like that http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14312&highlight=number+plate+spring, must be a lot cheaper and  it shows you how to do it, it wokrs off wind resistance, over a certain speed then it folds go slower then it un folds.

Nice to have it at the flick of a swaitch though, I can just the the officer, I pulled you for not having a plate on the front, please check again officer it was on when I left home:)
