All you boys with an aftermarket front bumper, where do you put your reg plates to, mine is currently stuck on the dash board because i dont want to ruin the front of the car with an ugly reg plate.

Where should i stick it!! nice answers please:)

John_Hudson

mine is a sticky and plastered on the bumper, got minimum size from our jono good plate and quick turn around :King

Bulla

I dont bother with one, havent been pulled yet in 2 years with it off but keep it in the back just in case.

Watch you get pulled tomorrow now for saying that !!! touch wood quickly kid :Nono!

Also mine too is in the front window on the dash but looking to get a sticky plate made up.

On a seperate note, the last Japshow at pod there was a police presence outside stopping cars with no plates on display so just a word of warning which goes for me too obviously

So its ok in the windscreen ?

Also while we are here whats the legal stuff over having a black platenumber with silver lettering ? seen a few cars with that type of plate and would look rather awesome on mine but is it legal ???? :Hammer

tbh, do you really need a front plate, if a copper is gonna read ur reg plate hes gonna be behind you anyway. And if your parked up im sure its not too much trouble for them to walk around the back and have a peek.  Bikes dont have to have em, whys that?
I think i will just leave it in the window then

Bikes don\'t have them because there is nowhere on the front a reg plate could feasibly go :)

I used to have a legal sized sticky plate on the front and got the attention of an unmarked car at a roundabout, who felt it neccesary to pull me over and give me a lecture about how difficult it was for them to read my adhesive no plate, because of the angle of the plate ie. not facing front. I got a fixed penalty (£30 fine) for that. Now I don\'t bother with a plate at all. I keep a perspex legal sized one handy to pop in the windscreen if I know there about.

TBH i\'ve never had an issue with the police,

I remember talking to a copper a while back and he was saying when a new performance car appears in the area the cops usually have the plate number and a pic of it on their network just so they know about it.

Derby is small enough that most people know each car and who drives them, my last RX had a smaller than legal sticky plate and never got stopped the new rx has the plate on the dash as not fixed on yet as tbh not got round to it ;)

Only time i ever got stopped was in the Escort Cosworth and the copper told me it was because he had not seen the car in the area before so was checking it out to make sure it was legit, reason he had not seen it was because it was always covered up on the drive and i drove it once every 2 weeks or so :Giggle  copper was really nice so no issues :Giggle

Front number plate has to be white with black lettering and rear has to be yellow with black lettering there is only aceptions when it comes to older clasic cars where the car was released before numerplae legislation came into play.

Minimum letter size is 64mm as i remember but only for imports.

mine is currently in my windscreen, but once I\'m back on the road, its going tobe attached the the underside of the passenger sun-visor.. Normally just have it folded up and out of site, then once I see police, or something, just flick it down.. VOILA!
