Sorry, my bad on the link.

This is the one I meant to post:

You basically still have a chamber that\'s not firing properly.  Plugs and leads, when you have the plugs out, remove the EGI relay and crank the car a over a few times :)

That\'s what it sounded like mate. The smoke from the exhaust did clear up on mine after a while. Just never ran properly.

Hopefully it is something simple like leads/coil pack.

Quote from: RobbieRX-7Your apex seal has definitley broken imo

Funny you should say that. Someone on FDUK said the same.

What makes you think that if you don\'t mind me asking? Also, what would cause it?

ds2000

Paranoia makes people say things like that, you get it alot with this car and sometimes it isn\'t misplaced :(

Mine shook about just like yours is doing now.

Simply follow whats been mentioned above and go from there, stay positive! :D

Jim_rx7

ok... I\'ll try to stay positive.

I\'m trying to get a hold of second hand leads to try that first.

you said a seal a min ago... lol

ds2000

Deflood again first dude, start with the cheapest option ;)

Jim_rx7

It was defo proper de-flooded. Tried it the other day and it done the same. Then de-flooded it again yesterday, just incase.

So I would say it\'s defo not because it was flooded. It did kinda sound like it wasn\'t firing properly. Or what I would say a piston engine would sound like if not firing properly.

RobbieRX-7

I say that because i went to view an fd 2 years ago. It lost a tip and sounded just like yours does now. I would definitley check to make sure all your spark plugs are firing. Try them one at a time. If they are all firing and the coil packs are working ok, Then more than likely a broken apex seal. Also the fluctuating boost gauge is a tell tale sign of uneven compression

LRP

take the upper plug out of rear rotor and turn it over with the fuel pump relay out then do the same with the front if it sounds different you hav lost a tip ! i had same problem after my rebuild turns out my brand new plugs were faulty!! i tryed everything!!
complete wankel :god

Jim_rx7

My mate done that. But I\'ll do it again as it does need to be a two man job I suppose.

I think you could have a water seal leak mate, and its causing one of the rotors to not spark due to the water, its definately running on only one rotor, get it compression checked should tell you then whether your apex\'s are cool, then you know its a water seal failure. Are you loosing any water out of the rad, any leaks at all?

Carl

Jim_rx7

no, not losing any water.

So Carl.. "yes it is!" ....?

running on one rotor?
