Damaging the guys car is but an incovenience to him, he will no doubt be insured and just claim each time there is damage! Then unfortuantely you have strayed on the wrong side of the law and you have that to deal with!

An old but very good phrase.
Revenge is a dish best served cold!

This is just ridiculous - glad the guy has been tracked down, sounds to me with the speeds involved he could realistically be charged with attempted gbh or even murder?

Si.

Grinder, you should be a P.I.!!!

Luckily the other driver involved witnessed what happend so there will be a good case against the Merc driver.  Dangerous and Reckless driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident (that he caused).  It\'s idiots like this that need to be off the road.

glad to see the police showing an interest :D

Good to see progress being made here. I\'d hate to see no justice for this idiot.

Epiphany

There\'s always the possibility it could have been stolen?

Seems odd for someone to risk a £110,000 car for no reason.

Also highlights the ineptitude of the police that a few people on a forum can track a car in under 2 hours when the police can\'t.

Ill think it would be down to time and resources rather than not being able too!

Brett

Glad you found the info guys!

Just a thought (and its one you wont like!) the police down in sussex have (or had) the exact same model and colour of merc as an unmarked M/Way patrol vehicle.......

I work for Mercedes, I could probably find out who\'s car this is.  I\'ll see what I can find out tomorrow.

I could even refund his tax disc so he\'ll be driving illegally :)

EDIT: Note to self - Read the whole thread first! - I could still refund his tax though????

Hi there

The police called me today, and without an independant witness coming forward the only thing they have on him is leaving the scene of an accident. Even though the guy I hit and myself are prepared to make a statement the copper reckons that wouldnt be enough for CPS to prosecute. Typical.

The cameras on that stretch of road are owned and run by the highways agency and no longer record 24/7. They are only used to monitor the road AFTER an accident. Also bloody typical.

I do have his address now though...

...a dish served cold coming right up.

Sorry to here this Onelastpost, makes me fcuk*** sick that nothing can be done, if the guy you smacked into isnt classed as "independant" who the hell is independant!! Personally i would not let this lie, i have some friends in the force and i will seek thier advsie, unfortuantely it could just be the individual copper not wanting to be hassled with the paperwork, certainly sounds like it from the lack of "not being able to trace the particlaur car to the number plate you got". Will keep you posted!!
