The slicks were finally collected on Tuesday and a quick visit to Tim at RX Motors today got the 15" 7j OZ alloys. The rears fit a treat and so will the fronts once I get some longer studs so I can make use of the wheel spacers or the tyre will foul on the suspension strut.
A new rear spoiler was also sourced from tim and once this has been painted it will be fitted with a small gurney flap for added down force.

Quote from: kiwimazdaYou should have seen the loose that I had. That was awesome:eek:
We now have slicks and some under body ducting to remove hot air and lower the air pressure from under the bonnet.

I\'m loving this thread, as Mark said though, some pictures would be great.

Got anywhere with that GRP bonnet then? I\'ve got a mate in composites who might be able to offer some advice if you need some.

Does anyone know how many MRC members are out there on the circuits? Would be great to get some more oldskoolers out to play.

When I figure out how to download a picture ( the computer always says file to big or something like that:xconfused ) I will put some on

Dominic

Pics have to be less than 1100 x 1100 pixels or something like that. If you load them up into paint then go to IMAGE on the toolbar then ATTRIBUTES it should tell you how big it is, then shrink image as required.

Ha ha, no excuses now :Laugh

kiwimazda

pics as promised. More to follow

kiwimazda

Right. After all that faffing around loading those pics I will not post any more as it has really p****d me off with the amount of time it took.
I am normally a very calm and collected person but I have the sudden urge to go and halm a poor defencless creature.

I will however notify you all of my web address when I get it which will have pics on there.
Unfortunatly the boring reports will continue
Cheers

Thanks guys. The slicks are 15" 205 & 235. I got 4 for £120.00 2 of them were new and the others had only done 5 miles. Slapped some tyre reviver/softner on the s/h ones.
The rims came from Tim at RX Motors. OZ 15" 7J. Had to get longer wheel studs for the front to get them away from the shocks and fitted a 18mm spacer.
Looking forward to :flamed an escort in the near future.
A points update shows me leading my class and the championship over all with 5 rounds remaining.
Win or loose this year it has been great fun but I wont be out to play much next year as all the wonga will be gone and the back garden looks like something from the Amazon rain forest.

Thanks for that.
Spent an hour today working on the front tyres. Cleaning all the crappy bits of rubber off and then applying several coats of tyre softner.
This stuff really stinks and I floated out of the workshop but the change in the rubber is already noticable. they are quite grippy to touch now but the rubber tends to leave black smudge marks on your hands and then on any thing you touch. Things like fridge when going for a beer, telly to watch the BTCC and then the curtains to sheild my vision of the abomination that is my back garden. When the wife got home she knew exactly where i\'d been in the house.
Just got to change the front pads and stick it on the trailer for next weekend.
Saturday Lydden Hill at Dover
Sunday North Weald air field just up the M11 from the M25

antnicuk

oooh,  north weald,  5 mins from me,  what are you there for?,  can i come and watch,  i know they are bit funny about letting people on unless you are participating.
