General Technical / removing power steering pulley
November 24, 2009, 01:24:35 PM
Easy, double up the P/S belt opposing another pulley wheel and make it tighten up against itself in the loosening direction. The frictional contact between the belt and the P/S pulley should be so great (harder you twist the greater the normal force against slip) that the nut should come undone without issue, with a big enough breaker bar of course.

I have them on the stealth track car, they are very good. But like the thread you linked to I could do with replacing the front bushes. Anyone know where to get a replacement set?

General Technical / reducing turbo lag?

Quote from: EddieMy apexi filters sit below the drivers light now and get plenty of cold air.

Easy to do.

Seriously, don\'t drive in the rain. I know someone who hydro locked their engine going through a puddle slightly deeper than they thought when they had their air filters mounted low like yourself. :eek

Was it just the heater matrix o-rings Rixio? I replaced the o-ring sin the stealth on Friday and it turns out the actual matrix is split:rolleyes: Managed to take it out again in 45mins, just waiting for our spare matrix to arrive in the post:rolleyes: :Snoring

Hi Guys,

The prices on these things are silly, anyone know of a cheap supplier? I\'m after 225/45ZR17 or 235/45ZR17 and 255/40zR17 or 265/40zR17.

Cheers,

I think the SARD pump is the same as the supra tt pump which we run in our car and we have no problems what so ever running down to the red light on track, although it is best to avoid going too low if possible.

Quote from: aeseatonWas at donington on sun 04/02 and spotted a fellow fd doing the rounds. Had a lil look as mines in the garage at the mo. Are you local?

Yes it was I, well Woots and I, we were both driving it on the day. The car was local (i.e. Nottingham), but it\'s now moved down to London with me. Should be back at Donington soon, once I get the new brakes on :bandit

General Technical / Help-skirt trouble!

Dude, it\'s a sign telling you to keep them. Your car looks mint as it is, just buy another "tatty" FD for the track, which will mean it won\'t matter so much when you plough some gravel ;)

If you increase the base fuel pressure with an aftermarket FPR you could probably get that value upto around 310-320hp atw using stock injectors all round. Then of course you\'ll be running out of puff on the twin turbos anyway.

3rd generation RX-7's / Racing an RX
October 17, 2006, 06:30:50 PM
Hey Tony,

I\'ve built a car that still uses the stock twin turbos, all be it in non-sequential mode, it makes an easy 325atw\'s at 1bar of boost and can get on any circuit in the uk no problems. This year it was entered in the time attack series, and has done more than 8 track days and 1 trip to the ring with only oil, filter and spark plug changes required. We run the car on any old super petrol and with someone decent behind the wheel it would be very quick indeed round a circuit. And I think in total the car stands us at 8k and that includes all the running costs (excluding petrol, insurance and tax) for 1 1/2 years.

So yes, it is very possible to build a car of the type you\'re after within a reasonable budget.

Hope that helps,

Paul

P.S. I\'m originally from Bingley and my family now lives in Steeton. I intednd on coming back for a weekend within the next few weeks... so yeah I can happily show you the car then. Just let me know.
