Hey peeps now iv went non-seq im wanting to reduce the turbo lag, is there ways of doing this without engine proting?
Im going to remove the y pipe and make a custom straight pipe to join to the intercooler, like jonos setup and straighten the elbow pipe, at the mo im startin to spool about 3300ish, would like to get to around 2600ish if possible, is there anything i cn do to help it along?
Toyed with making a custom uim with bigger bore to aid flow which in turn should help spool? lol any info would be much appreiciated

cheers

The easiest way would be to make the new pipework with SMALLER dia. pipes.

If running a constant trailing timing split close the gap in vacuum to about 3 degrees and taper it up as it comes into boost.

I have no idear what that means bud lol.. wayy too technical :P

Would running smaller pipework all round not restrict power tho?

smaller pipework will increase air velocity which will give quicker spool but limit top end power. Get whoever does your mapping to tweek the maps to suit the non sequential set up.

heres an old pic, iv got alot more room noo tho lol.. these are all the bends im going to remove, so are u saying fit smaller pipework to reduce the lag on all these pipes?

if the spool time can be reduce on the mapping session to about 2600ish then thats kewl, didnt relise that cud be changed in the map..:)

sort the pipework and get it remapped is the way i\'d go. Never reduce pipe diameter as anything you gain low down you\'d lose at the top end.

kewl cheers bud, well was the way i was planning on going to be honest, thought maybe there was something else i cud have done to help it a bit..
Speaking to jono he reckons he`s spooling a few hundred rpm`s sooner due to the new pipe he made :)
I`ll also port the lim as i havnt done this yet, ported the plenum n TB tho :)

Hi interloper393  I did this with mine. Seems to spool up quicker than 3300 I\'m sure but that mite be me hoping, would have like to remove some more of the bends form thepipe work but that was the best I could do with the pipes I had.

cheers

lol and another prob im guna relocate me filters too lol.. toyed with the idear of a vented wing with the filters inside.. we`ll see how that pans out :S

My apexi filters sit below the drivers light now and get plenty of cold air.

Easy to do.

Seriously, don\'t drive in the rain. I know someone who hydro locked their engine going through a puddle slightly deeper than they thought when they had their air filters mounted low like yourself. :eek
