Guys,
do you know what colour of emmissions sticker a standard FD gets? Thinking of bringing one over to Bonn.

Thanks
Stuart

I\'ve not been bidding yet - I expect the price is going to go up. If you need a car for parts this might be ideal. I\'m not so sure it is a good choice as a fixer upper -  when you can buy a running Fd for £3K these days, spending £1K for a non runner plus panel work and protentially a rebuild it doesn\'t really add up!

Hi Guys,
I\'m looking for a FD project car and one has come up for sale near to me. It is a Cat C due to vandal damage but looks repairable. The seller says they tried to start it but it would not fire. Sounds like flooding which means it could also need a rebuild.....

Before I go and get it compression checked, does anyone know anything about this cars history? Ideally I am tryingto find a previour owner to get some idea what state the engine is in. The link is below :

Actually - I think those bricks are the only thing keeping the floorpan from falling on the ground.....

Rotten as a pear. Pity.

2nd generation RX-7's / "Clunk" noise when braking
June 06, 2006, 09:34:47 AM
My 90 cab makes a clunk noise occasioanlly whilst braking. I\'m pretty sure the noise is coming from the front right caliper, I can also feel a light thump through the brake pedal when I hear the noise. I have taken a look at the caliper and cannot see anything visibly wrong. The braking power does not feel reduced before or after the clunk.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Nice one mate - £650 for a car with a recent rebuild is a really good deal. Let us know how you think when you pick it up!

My bet is that it won\'t meet the reserve. I think it looks (and probably sounds) great but with a car like this you would have to make sure that whoever did the conversion did a damn good job on it. I can just imagine all sorts of overheating problems if it wasn\'t done right.

Nice one Grinder - from his sig it looks like the car is in Chester le Street which is about 20 miles south of Newcastle.

I\'m not selling this but just came across it in one of our regional forums and thought one of you guys may be interested :

2nd generation RX-7's / FC Exhaust
May 21, 2006, 09:00:02 AM
Hello and welcome.

I have a DynoMax Super Turbo cat back system which consists of a y-pipe and the two back boxes. I\'m really happy with it - does not look outragious but has a nice deep rumble to it.

I ordered the sysem from Summit Racing in the US. It came quite quickly but at a price:
Exhaust system = £200
Shipping = £180

Having said that, the way the $ to £ exchange rate is these days, ordering from the US is a better bargain than ever.

I\'m sure this is a stupid suggestion, but have you checked the coolant plug just above the sump (passenger side) is in place?

I filled up this morning so I was able to calculate my MPG - it\'s 17.7!!!!!

Pretty much in line with the rest of you guys, but then again I have to do a 1200miles round trip in  a few weeks. Still, it\'s mostly motorway so I should be able to report back on the mpg you get from a T2 when you drain a complete tank on the motorway  - a new mpg world record attempt perhaps?? Well one for the MRC anyway...

Hmmm....I might have the same problem as my car drifts left eventhough the alignment numbers look good. How do you tell if your DTSS is shot? Anyone have any pictures?

Cheers

EDIT : actually just found this which clearly shows how to change it :
