Hi Thud,I spied this one aswell-don\'t know whether the fact it\'s been a project car is a good thing or not! Either way I should give they\'re sill repairs a good ol\' fashion poke about!

Let us know if you do go have a look.

I\'m trying to rack my brain here - I know it was a giveaway car (yes, I\'m a closet PC reader) but I don\'t think they did a proper project car article on it so it wasn\'t really restored for everybody to see, so to speak.

Thats a fair point, I\'ve been racking my brains too now as I do vaguely remember seeing it but only in a \'ooh look theres an FB in Practical Classics mag I\'ll take a look whilst the wife chooses a book\' kinda way!! Definately take the prodding tool then.:Laugh

I bought the mag and entered the comp to win it. I should still have the mag somewhere - god knows where though. Also where I would have put the car I hadn\'t worked out!
From memory there was a rebuild article on it. It was done I think by a keen mechanic/ bodywork repairer in a reasonable workshop.
I don\'t think PC would risk a bodge up as a prize. Go for it!

Got the Article! What a filing system (in the rack, side of my telly chair!)
Sorry Elford Tim,you\'re right, it\'s not a full rebuild article but it\'s faily detailed about what was done and it includes new  back axle front tie rod mounts welded in with the seats coming out as well as new offside sill sections and repairs to nearside sill. The seats out would expose the back arch weak spot for Practical Classics to check for rusting. Heres the important bit. The repairer was a John Simpson at Kerbside Auto Repairs (workshop wizard) and his phone number is there - 07761 241544
Why not give him a call and find out what the extent of his commission from PC was and how well he thinks the car turned out? he should be unbiased I would have thought.

Anybody on here bought the car and want a copy of it featured in Practical Classics, I\'ll happily scan it and put it in the post.
