(Posted on behalf of LynneE, who is organising the MRC Stand at this event. I plan to visit on one day of the show :) ).

Following on from the success of 2024, the MRC will again have a stand at this year's Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at the NEC: the UK's largest indoor show and the grand finale to the classic car season.

Although our stand is rather small, we are sharing a "block" with the Ro80 Club International (their first time at the show), and the RX8 Owner's Club UK – resulting in a great timeline display of rotary powered cars, featuring models from 1967 to 2012. In a similar vein, our MRC stand will also feature "old to new": Piers Lambert's early rare R100, Dave Collins's freshly refurbished RX7 FB and my late UK spec RX7 FD.

The three "Rotary" stands have a great position in the centrally positioned Hall 3A (the Dealer Hall), adjacent to the large Lancaster Pride of Ownership stand – so we can expect a lot of passing "foot traffic"!

If you're coming to the show, do call in and see us on stand 3-368!

One ticket. Seven NEC halls. Here's what's included:

  • 3,000+ classic cars on display
  • 310+ classic car clubs - it's the world's biggest gathering!
  • 450+ exhibitors and traders
  • The UK's biggest indoor autojumble
  • Podcast Lounge
  • Meet the Experts Theatre featuring experts and celebrities
  • 600+ vehicles for sale. A super auction of classic cars, motorcycles & memorabilia in Hall 2, plus a dedicated dealer hall
  • Learn essential skills at the Restoration Workshop

Another year over at the NEC Classic Car show.  Big thanks goes to Lynne, Dave & Sally and Piers for committing their time to take their beloved rotaries to the show and committing to 4 days up there.

:sign0098:

The icing on the cake was that an Australian man living n the UK for the last 10 years seek out our stand and on the  advice of Lynne & Clive looking over the car with him he bidded on a RX7FD that was being auctioned and won, so hopefully we have gain a new member   :icon_thumright:

Thanks for the "post-show report", Lisa!

It was a great show - slightly busier than last year - with 72,738 visitors over the 3 days!
It's my great pleasure to represent and promote the club at this huge event  :)

Although our stand was small, it was in a great position, and together with our friends from the Ro80 OC and RX8OC, the three rotary clubs made a great exhibit! The cars got lots of love  :love4:  especially Piers's very rare R100. Thanks for getting her there, Piers, and for your tireless efforts on the stand!  :13:

Thanks to Dave and Sally for giving up the privilege of a place on the "Pride of Ownership" stand, to support us on the club stand instead, with your pristine FB.

Thanks to Clive and Lisa for bringing the amazing race car for the RX8 stand and giving us excellent support over the weekend.

And big thanks to Pete Symons for lending us his demo engine again - as always it was a great crowd-puller and attracted a lot of interest from the passing traffic!

Some photos will follow soon (courtesy of Malcolm and his IT skills!....) - Done  :)

Best wishes to everybody.
See you next season! 🚗🌬 🏁

Well done Lynne for pulling this all together. I know from last year how much work is involved  :icon_thumleft:

Given the very limited space, you all did a fantatsic job with the stand! The combination of the 3 stands looks awesome too.

Thank you to David, Sally, Lynne, Piers, Lisa, Clive (as in photo L-R) and not forgetting Pete for lending us his engine display again  :13:
