Our forum host, UK2, has been unable to resolve ouur major "missing attachments" issue highlighted here: https://mazdarotaryclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=85541.0

UK2 are unable to return to the pre-migration instance of the forum so I have agreed they attempt the migration process a 2nd time, asap.

I have spent a few hours today copying important new topics and posts created since the migration last month, as these will be lost during the 2nd migration attempt. I will do my best to restore these, once we have the forum attachments issue resolved.

PLEASE REFRAIN FROM POSTING ON THE FORUM OVER TYHE NEXT FEW DAYS UNTIL I CONFIRM THE 2ND MIGRATION HAS TAKEN PLACE. ANY NEW TOPICS/POSTS FROM TODAY WILL BE LOST!

There may also be some disruption, whilst the 2nd migration takes place.

I might have to put the forum into maintenance mode at some point, meaning access to the forum will be denied. I apologise in advance if I have to take this action.

Mahoosive thanks to stewartm for, once again, jumping in and sorting out our forum issues this morning  :notworthy:

The 38,400 attachments (mainly photos) that had DISAPPEARED COMPLETELY from ALL posts made since the inception our forum are now VISIBLE again  :13:

I believe we are now fully operational following this forum migration (massive) glitch.

PLEASE REPORT HERE IF YOU FIND ANYTYHING NOT WORKING AS IT SHOULD.

I will let things settle for a while, then we need to do some forum version upgrades. We are currently running v2.1.2 and we need to be on v2.1.4.

Jinx has reported an issue when logging into the forum. He is seeing the screen below (Chrome and Safari browsers on a Mac).

I have investigated and discovered;

1. No problems with Chrome or Edge browsers on my PC, but I get the error on Chrome on my Android phone.
2. I get the error using Firefox on my PC.
3. Tapatalk seems unaffected.

The issue is easy to work around, simply clear the log in error with the red cross, click on a home screen item (e.g. a link in "Recent Posts" listing, near the bottom of the page) and you will find this logs you in automatically OR, you will find the "Log in" button at the top of the screen now works fine.

Weird! I have spoken with Stew this morning and we have concluded it is probably something to do with UK2 (our website host) holding old cached copies of the forum which haven't been flushed/renewed. As it is so "random" and we have confirmed it is not local browser caches at fault, we have decided to give it a week or 2 to see if the problem resolves itself as the UK2 caches are updated. If not, we can take a further look.

Thanks Jinx for pointing this error out.

Please continue to report anything else that doesn't look right.......... Why does this remind me of those annoying TFL (Transport For London) tube security announcements;

    "Remember, if you see something that doesn't look right; See it, Say it, Sorted"  ;)

Can anyone update me on this log in issue (post above), particularly Apple OS users?

I can no longer replicate the issue on my Windows 11 PC (Chrome, Edge and Firefox are all fine), nor can I see any issue with Chrome on my Android phone. Everything seems to work as it should!

I have one report from a user who has reported an issue logging in with Chrome on mac OS 12.7.6, but I don't have access to an iMac to do any troubleshooting  :(

Hi Malcolm,

I normally use Safari on a Mac which is fine, I just tried Chrome and the same issue still exists. I am using latest OS & Browser (MacOS Sequoia 15.1 & Chrome 130.0.6723.92) on a M1 MacBook Air & M1 iMac. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Thanks

Kevin

Ah, thanks Kevin. Useful to know it is Chrome on a Mac that has the issue, even with latest MacOS.

It's on my list to sort. Now I have some further info,  I'll raise it with SMF support
