Quote from: clive on October 17, 2023, 06:44:37 PMOn a happier note than sadly damaged and poorly race cars, Jamie has now finished his race car and went for a different shade of blue  ;)  ( I know its a Ford, but I really like it  :-[ )
It's a decent build, not sure bout the wheels, but yeah it looks purposeful. Judging by the 4 exhaust tips and edelbrock sticker I'm assuming it's hiding a V8?

Drive by at Donnington, first time I have really heard it.
Just got to get some go in the thing now!

Below you will see that I used to beat the Holden before it received upgrades but I'm confident we will be at the sharp end next season.

Also a decent picture from Donnington showing the 4 pot rear brake conversion that Jamie helped with.

Started preparations this week for the 2024 season.

New 4inch exhaust from Turbo to tail pipe is the first mission, using these two beautifully made silencers which will hopefully will hopefully keep Christeen at the 106 decibel limit allowed.
Completed the first section today and hope to complete the whole system by the end of the week.

However its being a bit of a challenge getting this monster system through the car though ??? .     .

Looking good Clive.

Hate doing exhausts, luckily you (Steve) has a four poster to stop getting a cricked neck or sparks landing on you when ya lay down in stupid awkward positions

Although I haven't posted for a while, I've still been working away on the Race Car.

Picked up a new sponsor for the season and Exedy have supplied the Twin Plate clutch and Flywheel assembly for the car.

4" exhaust system plus lots more heat shielding is now complete, just got to noise test it to make sure it complies with the 106 decibel noise limit .

Still amazed I got a 4" system down between the fuel tanks and diff!

Finding the oil leak turned into a nightmare on the TVR Dog box. Changed the oil seal on the RX-8 bell housing, put the gear box back in and still had an oil leak. Pulled the box again and it turned out to be leaking from behind  the special adaptor plate!

Just waiting now to get the car up to Pips on the Dyno to get some real power into the car, then I start testing in January  for the new season starting in March.

Looks fantastic! Great jobs. Almost a shame to hide that clutch away in a bellhousing!  :great:

Bloody hell - I didn't quite realise how thick that sump flange is aye. Solid!

Nice work on the clutch setup. It looks a beaut :13:
