IMPORTANT: Forum Upgrade 20-21 September 2022

The software that runs the MRC forum ("SMF") will be subject to a MAJOR upgrade, starting Tuesday evening, 20 September.

During Tuesday evening, a full backup of the forum will take place.

During Wednesday 21 September, the forum will be upgraded. It WILL look very different in appearance. The customisation/theme for the top of the page and elsewhere will revert to the standard/blank "SMF" software header until we can re-create some club customisation.

Some limited testing has taken place, but we cannot be sure all functionality will be available immediately after the upgrade (e.g. Tapatalk functionality). Please use this topic to report any issues you discover and we will aim to fix them.

Should there be major issues following the upgrade, we may be forced to reinstall from the backups. This will mean that any posts after Tuesday evening WILL be lost - please be aware of this.

Clive and I are extremely grateful to Stewart M for all the work he has done to test this update process and for agreeing to undertake the upgrade next week

Well, I've just come off the phone with Stewart M after he successfully performed the major upgrade to the forum. I can already see a few things that weren't quite right have been sorted.

My plans for today have been put on hold, so I will plodding around, post-upgrade, to see if anything has "broken". I shall be testing Tapatalk and a few other features.

If anyone spots any odd or broken features, please post up in here so we can take a look.

In time, we'll customise the pages to make it a little more our own, with a rotary theme!

I have just realised I wasn't receiving email notifications to subscribed topics! I thought it had gone extra quiet in here.

I went into my profile and list of "watched topics". It seems all my watched topics are there, but they have all "dropped" to "Alert" only , NOT Alert AND Email notification.

Has anyone else noticed this?

If it has happened to you, it's an easy fix. Go to your Forum profile and "Notification Preferences" (see screen shot below). Note my preference haven't got ticks in the "Receive email" boxes. So just tick what you want and "Save Settings" at the end.
