Hi everyone, i used to be active on this forum but sold my last FD and FC years ago, but have been tinkering with the idea of getting an RX8!

I used to own a nice black auto FD, a white 1994 FD, a UK silver FD (Reg was B17 REX), a red FD single turbo (engine blew) and a black FC Vert. All fantastic cars and a great forum I remember to chat and learn. Can't believe the prices of FDs nowadays!

I'll be keeping an eye on the classifieds but if anyone has a solid RX8 around £3.5k, please let me know.

Hi Ash, welcome back! £3.5k should buy you a decent RX-8. The biggest issue to watch out for is rust, particularly around the sills near the wheelarch, esp the rear. You know all about the engines, so no need to advise you there.

Many people now looking for a good RX-8 opt for a car with a good chassis, but with engine issues, which can be picked up for £500-£1000. They then spend £2500 on an engine rebuild, so they know they have a good one, and can opt whether to port it or not.

Ill second Casey point, check them cills. Rust from inside out. My neighbours 44k 54plate was rotted whole length of cills inside out. Id managed to put a patch on previous year but this time mot man said no. 2 welders looked at it and quoted 2k todo the job properly. 
The bit you see externally may look good but you need to look at from underneath.
