Thanks, Jamie. These look like (mostly) the small standard ones, though (i.e. the one in the engine bay). That's the problem I encounter when I search for these over here, too. I'm sure some of these would do the job, but the original filter is BIG, about 4" long and 3" thick and it hangs in special clamps under a little panel in the boot floor. It does look very similar those little yellow plastic filters, only three times the size.

The fuel pump is quite LOUD as well, so I suspect there might be a blockage somewhere. Of course I could change the whole system for something more modern, but there's something about that familiar Mazda whirr in the rear wing when you switch the ignition on.

That's the same filter thats fitted to my series 3 FB. Not sure it's correct for your car though?

I think you're right, Casey. Filters were the same for 616 and Rx2 and these filters were straight cylinders with input and output either end. Don't think they are available anymore, so just have to find a good, reliable solution with replacement filter and pump. Yes, maybe FB is the way to go.

This is the type you need.

In our General and Technical  section there are lots of workshop and parts manuals.

I checked the pump and filter type for you in the RX-2 parts section as you always get better pictures than the workdhop manuals.

Yep, Clive is correct, the filter is not the same as in the FB, looking at those manuals.
