Actually, I was not being sarcast. I was just being, well, me!

Much more easier to go over sea than drive from north to Sweden ot Norway

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Gentlemen, you are both right.  :icon_thumright: Depends a bit whether your point of departure is Rovaniemi or Turku. And whether your destination is Stockholm/Oslo, or Kiruna/Narvik. Those two Finnish-sold Rx2s most probably went on a ferry. Hopefully they didn't end up like this:

From 1975 to 1988 and another couple of reasons why Rx2. My poor, hard-serving 616 series IVs. May they rest in pieces.  :'(

Quirky carb issues. The gaskets in the recon set I bought don't quite match. Fortunately, my specialist has sourced the right ones. I suppose this is another series I/series II hybrid mish-mash mix-up thing.

Been having a good look under the rear wing today. A bit of a rat's nest by the look of it. Pump is hanging loose, so perhaps no wonder it's a bit LOUD. Needs sorting out. No point in fitting a reconditioned carb if the rest of the system's grubby. But first some more investigation into the available options.

Looking a bit menacing now with the front bumper off.  >:D
Recognise that red door on the left, Jamie?

Almost. Cortina mk1 right hand door. My last cortina part. From a two-door GT that was used for rallying back in the 60s and 70s. Now sadly departed. Perhaps I should have the door restored as a kind of memento...  :))

Yup garage art. Mount it on the wall and turn it into something practical like a shelf etc

Another thing to sort out is the exhaust. Tail pipe has rusted away. Looks like the rest of the system is approaching retirement age. Wonder if it's possible to find an original exhaust or whether I have to build a bespoke one/have one built.

clive

As Malcolm says the filter is the same in-line filter used on all early Rotarys.

The fuel pump is origonal and the closest direct replacment will be a Facit one as pictured.
All the best Clive

Thanks. That one looks right, yes. Will put a small filter next to it and tidy up the hoses and wiring.

O0o0o0 looks like a facet red top

Apparently the square ones like that are quiet.

I had a facet cylindrical one on my escort, sounded like a hamster on a noisy wheel in the boot
