I have  an intermittent issue with power steering, the light comes on the dashboard, then steering goes stiff, I plugged the scanner tool in and said its the torque sensor on the rack, but it's believed to be the loom going to it.

Need to lift the battery out etc, then I'll probably have to do the stomp test again

Mr Spiller

I was going to suggest changing battery clamp first
Is this when driving or just sometimes when it’s started ?

;D ;D ;D

Slight hijack, first post I've checked since getting back from a fantastic weekend away with the RX-8 OC guys in Wigan, where we had the Three Sisters Full circuit for our exclusive use on Saturday:

https://threesisterscircuit.co.uk/more/full-circuit-plan

It's a big go-kart track, which suited the 8 well, enabling us to really test handling to the limits, but with max speeds of 70mph or so. Much more enjoyable than I was expecting! I'll get a video up when I've sorted things out, but I've first got Clive's pics to go through from last week  :)

To clarify............

Battery clamp on the end of the wires and not the clamp that holds the battery down lol ?

Some days Ill start it up and the fault is there, somedays it will come on mid journey, some days not at all ever.

Previous owner said theres nowt wrong with the rack, he sprayed the terminals going into the rack with some jungle juice and it worked.......

...........yeah 4 days lol

I cant keep pulling all out to spray it.....

Some deep delving required I think

Sorry Jamie
Yeah battery terminal clamps , had terrible trouble with steering on one of mine . Low battery voltage and crap terminals
. Changed terminals and battery and it was fine

Treat the 8 to some new shoes, but after she’s had her nails painted!

I really dislike silver alloys....... may go electric blue like jons 7

I know you maybe thinking tarting up alloys and decent rubber on an old rusty 8 is like hanging a chandelier in a haunted house. But these wheels will still fit the rotus even tho I’ll be running predominantly 17”steels. So I’ll steal these for the wet tyres doing track days
