Even worse, I would he got turned around rather than lost it.

Years ago at Brands I standing looking across from the top of Paddock Hill watching a Formula Ford Race and a car spun in the huge pack coming onto Cooper Straight.

He sat there stationary exactly 180 degree's the wrong way facing the traffic,

The whole pack split and went by him safely, then the very last car came round all by himself and hit him head on and went up and over the top killing him instantly !

As I said to Lisa yesterday when I opened my Auto Sport mag and found a chap was killed at Castle Coombe last weekend after going off at Bobbies, Motor Racing is Dangerous

Now I've cheered you all up, I''ll get my coat !!
All the best Clive

they certainly were one of the nicer shape cars from Brummageham. No clue what the performance was like.

A friend of mine had one of those Rover 220 BRM jobbies.

British racing green with a funky bright orange grille. Didnt look too bad........till he opened the door.

Brushed aluminium panelling and .............gulp........ salmon pink leather interior........

I felt like i was drunk !

The guy at Combe Clive he had a suspected heart attack...he just drove straight on into the infield and came to a halt, no other cars involved..historic racing. He was 61.

They gave no details other than was driving an Austin A40 and no other car was involved :(

What you have said reminds me of one of my hero's from when I was young, Gerry Marshall.
He had a heart attack driving an Aston at Silverstone, went off into the gravel trap and died there and then, I remember it being written that all were impressed that he still had the presence of mind to shut everything down as he clocked off.

Amazing Guy, Gerry all 26 stone of him, the F1 drivers at the time proclaimed that if he could have ever got in a single seater he would have wiped the floor with them.
He wrote a book called, "Only here for the Beer" which say's it all and from memory was a great read  :great:

Anyway, 61, no hope for me then  ;D

That's it I have lightend the mood enough ::) ::).
