Wow, 15 years ago!

Whoops the way the post read I thought you was getting everything for £800  :))
Funny thing is that I mentioned Owen Developments!
Yeh I know. The post was offering my current turbo for 600 quid with all those bits.

I was just trying a few places before to see what I could get and some prices but after trying a number of people in the US and when I mentioned I'm in the UK they just ceased communication so I just went to owens.

I did try AET but they got me quotes for turbos smaller than what I had asked for

And is a very tempting price if I didn't have so many things to fix right now before a new turbo Sounds like you've bought a monster of a snail !! You'll have one angRE motor to tear down the strip with.

So Iv been trying to find exactly how an rx8 diff fits in an mx5, along with the drive shafts etc. However everything I can find there's no full description but I have found this picture

An rx8 diff mounted in an mx5 using what looks like the rx8 axles/driveshafts/wheels pinnerthingys

So the easy bit is mounting the diff, all you need is an rx8 diff and an rx8 diff mounting bracket and it bolts straight into the mx5 subframe. Easy peasy.

Now from other info I have found is that the rx8 hub assembley bolts straight into the mx5, the rx8 units are much beefier, beefier bearing etc

Axles... Now Im sure the rx8s are longer and aparently there are different types, bumpy ones and smooth ones that is literally how people describe them on forums. The smooth ones come from auto rx8s..... Good luck find them in the UK, and whoever owns or ordered an automatic rx8, shame on you.

The rx8 diff has different mounts. That looks like a rx8 ppf in that pic. Sorry if you've found this out already. Catching up on posts.
You need to cut and shut a rx8 ppf.

I've got a rx8 ppf in the garage with a mx5 diff sat next to it

Yeh I won't be using a ppf anyway, going to build a brace and mount it solid the chassis, the same as with the gear box

When I get the turbo I will sit it next to the other one then it will give you a size reference. Pictures online don't do it justice.

If you YouTube GTX4709R then there a couple videos of people holdijg them.

In fact I will find a video of some ozzys installing the same turbo but slightly larger compressor wheel

That turbo is the 88mm inducer with the 120mm exducer so it's ever so slightly bigger than mine with a 80mm inducer and 109mm exducer however the compressor housing is the same physical size just machine different for the bigger wheel

225/50/16s fd rx7 wheelsshould work perfect and you can fit a 10.5 inch wide tyre on them.

Might need a little arch roll though

Still got room on the inside to the coil, plus after market coilovers will most likely be slimmer so loads of room for meaty tyres

Copied you, saw a load of spare wood at work so got my chop saw out. Don't like leaving the car on axle stands as I just don't trust them. Plus on the block the car is sat on its wheel rather than everything hanging down
