There's a manifold you can buy to fit throttle bodies. No idea how to control the fuelling.
I wouldn't get to worried about the rx8 air control bits.

In answer to my own question they must be rare, the price difference between renesis and older versions..... jeeez

It’s only from an appearance point of view. If I can get the renesis to run without all the added flaps solenoids sensors etc and go back to basics
Fit the plastic cover over the engine? Lol

Make it even taller ? Lol

Be nice if I was clever enough to design and build a new intake manifold like on that engine Jim mederer built like that post Clive put on the other day

Bored out of my mind.........

...............waiting for glue to dry ... literally

Did some tech specs to pass the time.

The power to weight ratio is a calculation from the anticipated associated figures

Mmmm i think the 260bhp might be a bit optimistic.

How much will a bridge port add?

I think youll be circa 200bhp at wheel mate with a bridge.
Std 231s dyno at 175...

Ah I was just referring to engine output with a load of mods.

I wouldnt have a foggiest on wheel horsepower untill i get it set up on the rollers.

Guy on you tube got a 8 with full bridge port at 214 at the wheels.

But we know how much rollers/dynos can vary between diff places.

Theres plenty of other stuff I can do to make the most out of quicker acceleration with whatever engine hp it pops out.........

Rip it all out and put it in a westy? lol

Hi mate working weekend for me so v busy at work. Right here we go.
231 and 192s do not dyno at there published figures but do go up the road and bum dyno suggests its accurate and head to heads with similiar powered cars.

Some reasons are the stability control system senses the front wheels are not turning and rains in the power...

So bridgeported de catted modded cars make 200 whp standard cars are making 170whp on rolling roads.

The traction control system can be turned off  but its never really off still has some control.
People say that if you press and hold button it completely switches off but im not so sure as generates a fault in system. That resets on cycling off power.

Westy runs a street port...with 231...at 4.1 final drive...at 560kg...its rapid acceleration in 1 2 3 4 then ok in 5 and dull in 6th.
I think your gonna be fine with the standard 4.4. But if not swap out later on...
The converted mx5 i drove was a 5.? Still wasnt as quick as Westy...but on ohlins handled sweet. But power to weight is your friend.

It does completely switch it off.
Tested that thoroughly.

Maybe switches off traction control completely but how do you know if its limited engine power atall.
Cars with disabled traction still yield low numbers on dynos.
And Clives car being an oddball with twice the standard power he has had all sorts of issues with the rear brakes and afrs going funky when these systems were active...
All the electronic aids are gone now and a pip map no more engine blow ups...
I dont know is the answer but bum dyno on an 8 is better than a real dyno.
Always meant to dyno the westy.....

I've done a fair bit of playing with bmw ms43/2 ecu's and the abs/dsc unit is practically identical to the mazda rx8 unit.
All the dsc/abs unit does its send a signal to the ecu to limit torque and power. If this dsc system is missing or switched off (hence the dtc) the ecu remains producing full power.
A fail safe on the bmw ecu if the abs signal is missing, is to put the ecu into limp mode (5k max revs) I remove this when I map ecu's.
