The car is going straight to Aston for a once over, compression test and MOT

Thats one call I'll be taking sitting down lol

Hopefully all goes well and you'll be enjoying the car before too long.

As said, keep us posted!

Went to see the car tonight over at Essex Rotary and its actually much better than we expected. Bodywork is tired but its not too bad, a few patches of rust on the arches, but should be treatable without the need for new panels.
Interior is very good with factory A/C, and the US spec automatic seat belts are entertaining.

Enginewise, no leaks or rattles and runs smoothly so I think we're on to a winner :)
There's a little bit of welding to do on the underside from what we can see, but Aston is doing a full inspection tomorrow.

Couple of videos :)

105K miles and believed not to be rebuilt

Fun with seatbelts

Had a day with Aston going through what needs to be done.
Quite a bit of welding to the underside, more than originally anticipated but not so bad as to be terminal

Compression results are in:-

Front Rotor
First Chamber [588] : 766.87
Second Chamber [588] : 757.53
Third Chamber [588] : 794.51
Chambers Difference [<150] : 36.98

Back Rotor
First Chamber [588] : 714.63
Second Chamber [588] : 697.36
Third Chamber [588] : 687.1
Chambers Difference [<150] : 27.53

Mazda minimum specs for the RX-7 FC EGI engine are 588kPa @ 250rpm

We did find a dodgy lead so It will be getting a new set of hand made bespoke Essex Rotary 10mm leads along with some nice new platinum plugs

Time moves faster than I do.
Had some time on the FC today with the assistance on Aston & Ryan

Bumper off, front wings off
Time to start carving out the cancer

on the lookout for 2 decent front wings as the 2 front wings are quite badly bodged

re japi

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Rather unpleasant wheels aren't they?
Need to be changed

The car has a name now
"Crunchy" after the noise it makes when various panels were poked
