Yes, I have seen that race about billion times ;) I have been Tanevik's fan several years now. Great driver

Norway has several rotary rallycross racers. Few with RX-8 and 4 or 5 with FB.

One driver in that heat, Sandmo with Citroen has RX-8 now. Really impressive car and driver. And his little sister is really fast too. (and really hot ;) ) I was able to talk to them last September when they were here in our NEZ(North European Championship) event at Hyvinkää.

Few pics from that car in that event:

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Cool so rad in boot to protect from stones...? Howdo they get enough airflow...?

Here is results from that NEZ event, after Heat 3. Our driver Janne were 12th and Sandmo 10th. Because different rules in our nationals and NEZ, they drive in different class. NEZ uses "world wide rules". To be fair, Janne´s times were bad, in 2 heats he was stuck behind someone. In heat 1 behind SuperCar, for god sake! :D In heat 2 he took his first heat win and made his personal best for Hyvinkää track...

Well, thats one reason. Other is that more weight to back, so it launches better off the line...
Airflow is one problem offcource. You just need to have massive fan and cooling system. In Janne´s evo1 version of Lada, he had rad at the boot. But then he realized that all that system with pumps and lines and massive rad are really heavy, so he changed it back to front...
