Does anyone know the implications for discarding the balance pipe and blocing off the outlet from the downpipe on a standard egi exhaust system?

by balance pipe, do you mean the pipe that goes from the rear of the intake to the main catylist?  that pipe is for air pump air (i\'m in the us it might be a little differnt) the manual it unclear when it uses the pipe (they call it split air), possibly cruising or deceleration.  the car will still pass an emissions test without the pipe, and it runs fine too
