It is disappointing that we only have 11 people that have booked tickets for this year's Japfest at Silverstone.

If you do intend attending this event with your Rotary then please see the link below with regards to purchasing your tickets and stand pass which you are now responsible to do.

To ensure that you obtain a stand pass for the MRC stand you must enter the club code as in the link below.

Is the lack of interest due to the change of track , i.e change from Castle Combe to Silverstone? Please let us know.

Don't forget for those that like Castle Combe track please note that we are also looking to attend this event on Sunday 14th May, but again due to lack of interest we have not yet purchased tickets. for this event.  http://japday.co.uk/

I was watching rx7fb forums topic, only 6 cars from there is coming...
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

25th Anniversary for the fd....over 70 fds doing a Silverstone Parade! like previous Japfest in recent years the Rotarys dominate the track action...thanks to the Essex Rotary Crew and LC rotary...pretty much every session has somebody from them whizzing round!!!! Tuners and builders that put there own cars on track...fair play....dont think this is to be missed really...! Rejapi coming from Finland...and im coming out of Wiltshire for a bit....do i need a passport!

theres loads todo...Vtec Challenge are holding a race date there as well so you can watch proper racers! Drifting like or loath...its stimulating and awesome to see the car control these guys have.

really is a good show and worth the effort!  :00123102: :grommit: :icon_swat: :wee_hee: :djparty: :icon_vader: :s_cool:

Sorry I'm one of the guys leaving it to the last minute.

But to make up for it, I just booked both my rotaries in. So will bring the T2 vert and the FB along. Hope I have time to get the FB ready now. Still need to quieten the exhaust!

See you all there

Lisa

Hi Chris

That's great news - just make sure you try and book on line a least the week before.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Hi Lisa
Already booked in with the japfest site. Just got my confirmation via email. Both cars and 2 drivers  are in.

Even got my better half Jackie to agree to driving one of them to the event. Got an awful feeling there will be a price to pay in return

Just booked for Japfest. Will be there with 2002 FD

I have been on the club stand the last 5 years, and I am a disappointed I shan't be on the MRC stand this year. But, when Fast Car magazine decided to do a 25th anniversary stand for the FD I applied and was accepted - I guess the lure of 2 free tickets was enough to sway me!
However I expect everything to back to normal next year, and I will join you once again.
From my perspective, Silverstone is half the distance of Castle Combe (which was 3.5hrs travel on coilovers along British roads - not as much fun as it could have been, lol)

Real pleased your coming along Kees and with a new toy maybe you can bring some friends  ;)

p.s. Heads up, we will be racing the day before with the RX-8 in the Nippon Challenge at the same track.

No worry's, many thanks for the support in the pas 8)t.

Getting a freebe is a no brainer ;).

You won't be too far away as the MRC stand and RX80C will be close by so it makes  a big Rotary area.

Not sure if he's back about but my old mate Scary Steve, long time editor of Fast Car at least twice had an FD that I helped him with years back so I wonder if this is where the idea came from (must catch up with him)
