How much did you pay for it?

2-3 year ago you would have got that car for about £10,000.

I think James Willday sold his drag car, well sorted car BTW for about 10,000. On full power it was an second beast. He sold it with a rebuilt engine and on low boost about 500-550hp

Hi, I paid £18k

re japi

That really is beautifull FD!!!

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Thank you! Almost too beautiful to throw round a track!

re japi

True, James FD was some serious beast! I think it had 770whp @ 1,8bar. 10k for that car was a robbery, afterall it was fastest rotary in europe...

Still the fastest street rotary in Europe, I think his car was the right price and is about the price they should still be imo. If he had the HKS box with the car then it would have been worth a fair few grand more for sure but he sold that as I think he had broken it...... again

Prices have gone mad the last 1-2 years. Time to jump on now!

Yep they have. I’d dread too think how much my FD is worth now. It was an original sold uk spec car. 1 of 125 sold in the uk.

I couldn’t pay 18k for one no matter how  much I’d want one because I’d look at what cars that are modern for the same price.

For another 6k you can get a new mustang ecoboost so second hand a fair bit less. Same with 370Zs

This was always about owning my childhood dream car back from the 90's/00's, didnt want a nail so had to pay the money. I have a 66' reg 335d X drive so have a sub 5s family car but it's boring. Not much can beat a classic in terms of driving satisfaction.

Totally understand, I kept every copy of max power for years that featured an FD. Then I got mine and didn’t need them any more. I’d be terrified of bump it on track at such a high cost
Main reason I’m getting an mx5 and throwing a single turbo rotary in it. Cheap and don’t care if it gets damaged. Plenty about and cheap as chips

Can you import them? I know there’s a few countries where too import them from japan you have to get it TÜV approved and it’s very expensive but if you get a uk spec sold car then you don’t have to get it TÜV?

re japi

Yes, we can import them. I think few of our FDs have come from UK. One from US. But others from japan. Only two were sold here originally.

TUV is not a problem.  Ridicilous taxes are. Import costs from UK and from japan are basically same for some reason
