Hey guys,

Been building up the miles of the last two weeks in order to get miles on the fresh engine, I have a few questions and didn\'t want to spam all the specific areas so thought I would ask here.

1. Low RPM Judder: get a bit of judder when de-acelerating down to 2k RPM and below. It goes away when you dip the clutch in or drop a gear. Initial thoughts were diff bushes (chassis has seen around 100k miles and I am changing the suspension arm bushes) or possibly something else?

2. Metallic grind/rubbing when pulling away: I am getting a very slight metallic grind noise when I first pull way, it seems to do it if you pull away slowly or quickly....I think its coming from the rear passenger side, almost sounds like a heatshild is loose, that sort of noise possible wheel bearings? What checks can I do?

3. Clunks from rear end: Now I am sure this is the pillow bushes and I have a spare set of suspension arms ready to go in, however yesterday we did about 140 miles and after about 60 miles the noise went, only a slight clunk when going over big bumps or drain covers, quite baffled why it would have suddenly stopped.....that normally only happens when the offending part falls off lol.

So not a massive list of issues and they are to be expected on a car this age, just some ideas would be great

Also just to add, cold idle is around the 1300rpm mark but as soon as I put it in reverse to come out of my garage this drops to around 750 and bounces a bit, as soon as I put it back into netual to close the garage door it goes back up to 1300 odd.

Cheers guys

Fd,s can suffer from low end deccelaration kidder.

Check engine mounts maybe for for an upgrade here and also diff mounts upgrade to poly will improve this greatly.

Most likely pillows at the rear like you said.

Rattles could be loads of things. I would sort out the other bits first so you can rule out these ad contributing factors then see where the rattle is after that.
