FD popup lights always up

Hi guys - My lights on my FD are always up, when you hit the lights switch (up and down button) they go down and come straight back up again.

Iv tried winding the motors down but when you hit the button they just go back up into the on position again.

Anyone got any idea why they are up all the time?

It seems to me as though the motors are getting power all the time.

Any helo would be awesome (iv checked all the fuses and replays and they all look alright)

I needed to replace the retra relay. I managed to pick one up on a certain well known auction site for £15. Retra relay located in driver footwell (on my imported fd anyway). There is another post about which terminals to short with the relay removed which will enable you control whether the lights go up/down via the switch on the dash.

hi mate cheers for the advice - i have 2 retra relays but there is a chance both of them could be faulty - when i hold the switch with the relay in the lights move up and down continuously - so i dont know if its a problem with wiring.

Cant find a retra relay for less than £25 at the minute and dont want to waste £25 on another relay if its not the problem

il have a search for that post - Any ideas what thread it was in?

\'Yesterday i shorted the brown & red wires on the connector & the lights do pop up & down with the button on the dash so you could do that as a temp fix if u want\'

retra relay same as mx5 !  a bit cheaper if you search for mx5 retra relay!
