hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows an electric fan that is a decent fit for the FC?

seen alot of american cars have good fitting fans with shrouds that provide good cooling, just wondering if there are any known uk fans that would do the job.

just seeing if anyone has any info before i get a generic e fan and make a shroud.

cheers,
Yas

breaker yard wanted stupid money for the c180 fan. wanted £180 lol.

so just ordered a 16inch ebay fan - states supplys >200CFM and was only 26 quid including postage.

on another note - i read that MK1 MR2 fans are a decent fit

If you go down the electric fan route:

1) Use a big (40A plus) relay to switch it
2) Use a Maxi fuse or similar, as the mini blade fuses will pop every time the fan starts - even 30A ones

I used a Volvo fan, can\'t remember what it came off, but it was a lot of hassle to fit it, ended up getting one 16" ebay fan, but the wiring burnt out on the fan itself, so I rejigged it to use 2 x 12" fans, and made the wiring modular so I could just have one fan running if one of them failed.

The 2x12\'s worked really well even without a shroud.

Tested it out today, it is a themo switch.

But it turns on at such low temps. So is pretty much on all the time.
So will need to replace it with a thermo switch with a higher temp setting, or a variable one.

Also noticed a small oil leak from the omp block off plate, seems on of the screws isn\'t catching any thread so is loose.
