Bit of feedback on the sump from RX8 performance in US of A. actual sump is fantastic, well made and fits a treat. New longer than standard bolts supplied where too long meaning went tight bottoming out on blind holes instead of applying clamping pressure on the mating flange. It starts to then goes tight giving you illusion you are !  :(. I replaced the bolts with shorter 1s the standard bolts are ok once you have 4 longer 1 in place else impossible to get the thread to start.
As you can see on passenger side there is a large chamber for the oil and with the 3 gated doors holds oil within the centre pick up area. The low level sensor is exchanged from old sump and this holds a full 6.5 litres of dino juice. it sits 3mm lower than a standard sump and the drain plug has been relocated to rear. i exchanged supplied nylon sump washer for a copper 1 as not a good seal atall. The supplied sump bolt is magnetic as well.

The faff comes in when fitting the 4 passenger side cap heads which fit through a hole in the bottom of the sump so cap head fits on end of t Bar up through hole and you feel your way in thread. Obviously if the cap head falls off its inside sump meaning pulling down and stringy go everywhere. First time i fitted first time but once i cut down became immpossible to start and fell off. new bolts 100% 5 time lucky.

summary excellent product let down by fitting kit. and lack of instructions and replies to emails.

Does it work....no idea as of yet!  few piccys.

Good to see you up and at it again  ;)

Speaking  as a man who has bashed in two new FD sumps on the RX-8 Race car, Jon you have got to raise that engine up or the kerbs are going to eat your nice shinny sump.

I just raised my engine a little on spacers and its fine now
All the best Clive

Lol its as high as i can go at mo....defo a concern exceeding track limits but with this misfire aimt going no where....just done 2 motorways junctions learning....but misfires come back with a vengeance. Fuel pressure gauge to be ordered. Shes all over the place on idle as well. Nearly dieing then picking up which is a new 1 from today....drives absolutely lovely up to 6500. Rough as after that...no codes again.
1 positive sump not leaking.

I think you need to get another ecu from a standard car to try that

I got 1 but need key/coil/ kas module.....thing is everything was working 100% from start to mechanical failure of last engine. This engine had a misfire from the start and today was the worst. Comp test next else all im doing is flogging a dead horse and getting greyer by each component changed.

Testers here but lashing down with rain...doh!  side note owned 4 series 1 231 rx8's....ive been driving the R3 lately WOW...the handing on s1 is great on the r3 its epic and that diff really sorts the gearing. What a car seriously tempted to have it off the wife.

I wouldn't want to gearing out if the r3 I think it would be waaay to short, even revving to 9500

Makes the car feel faster. Id go more 5.1 lovely acceleration...dont need top end on a road car.  Wish i had the cash...car is lush. Handling is sublime.
Well got 4 bar fuel press on idle...just pissing down so cant test on load.
Checked apv all good.
