He won't neee Revs now though as he will have boost. Engine will last longer too, however the side exhausts are limiting factor for sure

I have a bridge port engine and a manifold that would be great in his car. 500hp easy

I know ive thought about it! More than once... but im looking down the barrel of 3k private medical bill...because the NHS is too slow....for want of a better word...April to see my consultant had enough pain.
Heres a q for you why a 1000 mile run in....bearings or seal or both?

Bearings, the seals will bed themselves into the housings no mayter what so even if at first hey not perfect and compression a bit low, once its bedded in compression will actually go up. That's what happens quite substantially with 3mm seals, because they bigger they take longer to bed in and seal too the housings etc. Because they're bigger they stronger BUT they also wear housings. Catch 22.

Bearings don't take 1000 miles to bed in, a couple hundred or so would do it I reckon. Just look how easy it is too bed a piston engine in or a CAM, bedding in oil, hold at certain rpm etc.

Do you think drag race engine go do 1,000 miles before being abused with 1000 plus hp??

Nope.

Iv been told the guys in PR swap the engines out every couple of passes, 6 second cars with 1200 hp etc, but only for precautionary means, engines are stripped too check the bearings and they're absolutely fine. So get put back together and reused

Yeh pretty good deal but I'm not fussed. If Carl had given me an fd engine like I originally thought I was getting it would sell like hot cakes... however the engine setup is ideal for someone with a kit car where they're not put off by fabrication

I think 1000 miles also gives chance for any other gremlins that may pop up after a new engine installation. Coolant leaks, oil leaks, trapped air etc

Look what you do once an engine is run in, increase toms in every gear slowly, so you have run around for 1000 miles at 4000rpm then it's completely ok to go all the way too 9500/10,000.... hmm

That's my opinion anyway.

I'd rather change a rwd car gear than a front!
