Thanks mate. Getting my bridgeport rebuilt over winter is on my list of things todo after the newly acquired fd is back on the road. Hows yours going?

Good, I really will try and get some updates on my thread at some point!

Last year ended up too busy again, mostly down to getting married and having a nice time but progress was made!

Re-worked the fuel system, welded up a new ali cell to feed a swirl port through a low pressure lift pump...  Ducted the nose into the rad with some more ali and more welding.  Fitted a massive oil cooler and ducted that into the front splitter.  Made the exhaust silencer even larger in the hope I could get through 100dB tests,  was at 102dB and turned away from Abingdon at the last attempt (Silly me did not think of just lowering the Rev limit to get through the day #plonker)

Then is all went on the back burner while I did getting married and building a pizza oven in the garden and generally not having any motivation to deal with the oil issue and generally getting depressed about the whole thing unti...

This weekend when I put an R3 engine that I had taking up space in the garage in the front of it and fired it up.  Considering it was a £300 spares or repair ebay job (I was hoping for one good rotor housing from it) I'm delighted that it seems to work perfectly.  So got to get that tuned roughly this week then off to Llandow next week for a test of everything and more tuning of the new engine.

Also been enjoying some CAD and having things manufactured to go on the car, a coil bracket, new alternator mount to work with a little dinky 40A denso unit, all in prep for needing all the space on top of the block for integrated plenum and intercooler (best not to ask about that yet).

Anyway I'll get some pictured up tonight on the thread.

All the best

Well ive had a nice email from one of the formula scrutineers and he said the no rotary reg has always been in there and not sure why so he asking the Formula commitee if the reg can be lifted. Fingers x i may have found somewhere that the westy can compete on a level playing field.

Good news then :)

And you havent got much to do, I would suggest that you leave that car for a moment and when you got your self "recharged", attack it with new motivation :)

340hp per tonne? Or a maximum?

Grant Monkhouse

How do they know this? Do you have to dyno it?

boosted

Max 340 fly bhp per tonne including car and driver with safety gear. So chuffed they amend the regs....cars weighs 596kg. Me 78kg....need to know bridgeport power again lol.
