I\'ve owned 2 rx7s now and had the same problem with both. Basically the rev counter is all over the place and never has a correct reading. I\'ve heard that this is caused from a bad earth.

Can anyone help with this?

thanks

I know on FDs this can be caused by broken/blown capacitors which you can replace. Old electronics :)

is there a diagram or thread i can follow to find the capacitors/ thanks

Have a hunt around rx7club.com or fduk.com there\'s a few threads about them but I don\'t have them bookmarked.

I know this sounds mad but Scott had the same problem on his car and he reckons he has solved it by putting an earth strap between the two rotor housings. If you still have the rats next this won\'t apply but it\'s working for him.

Had a look at the workshop manual. Its for an FC but it should be the same outcome. Troubleshooting for fluctuating speedometer - defective speedometer cable or defective speedometer.

:wiggle Sooooo could be faulty cable or the actual rev clock.. I\'ll check the cable first :cheers
