Many thanks to all of you who came to Japfest especially the ones who braved sitting in the traffic that long, collectively you made a great varied stand, thankyou.

foot note/

Yes it was a pain if you did not get there before 7.15 when you could drive straight in, but I will say that I feel this event will not work at another track the way it does now, I say this because many of you who have been around for a long time will remember when JAE moved from Billing and has never been the same event again :(

I said it at the time that moving JAE was about the same as saying "lets move Glastonbury" I feel the same would go for Japfest.

For JAE at Billing we used to take 130/140 Rotarys there, then it moved to Peterborough and we had 25 cars over two days the following year 5 !:o

Once again thankyou to those who attended :Thumbs-up

Would like to say thanks for everyone involved in helping organize this event this year... it was an awesome day, The 4 track sessions still left me wanting more.
Thanks to Clive for bringing brake pads... something i needed after my third session. The MRC done themselves proud and we all managed to show off our rotaries to a capacity crowd. I look forward to the next one (even though its going to be a year to go) We really do need to get a track day there an OPL jobbie would be epic.
Thanks to Clive and Lisa for all the work you both put in, i know it got a little mental the last week but it all seemed to pay off.
Casey the track sessions went down a storm. It was a shame i didnt get chance to chat to more people as the little brother wanted me to take a walk round after my last session (but i wanted to stay and be social for a bit)
and to the person who had an off i hope both you and your car are ok...(you know who you are)

Lastly a big big thanks for Chris (CJR) for doing me a massive favour and popping back to the circuit this morning to take a look for my misplaced Rain Trays off my Carbon bonnet... It was the only thing to put a dampener on my day (but only when i realized i had not packed them half way along the M4 to London) Chris your a star and i guess that more insentive to get to Olton Park now.

Was a brill day many thanks for organising this.:god.....only spoke to a few people as my colt was parked up the other end and 3 sessions in that! The crowd was immense just meant getting around the circuit on foot was time consuming. On track first session car was awesome , found some weak points to address mainly brakes mushy last 2 laps and my video shows Clive only caught me after the chequer flag and my brakes where bad and i ran out of fuel ....LOL
...i got loads of excuses!!! Fair play caught me!:god:spank

Don\'t worry too much Clive is a nutter. Had a fantastic day and huge thanks has to go out to a wonderful weekend. Had a much better run on my 2nd session. Clive\'s corner speed is amazing, I have probably 200bhp and double ftlb of torque but my corner speed is nowhere near clives. I felt Like I was a couple of seconds slower on the 2nd session for a lap ! Maybe I need to buy some more brave pills :Giggle

Sorry I set my clock wrong, I was a whole hour out on my phone :Hammer Made it a bit of a rush and I just jumped out of bed and set off ! Amazed to see a queue at 7:20am getting into the track !

Looking so much to Oulton now.

Was absolutely wonderful :D Big thanks to the people who made it happen :D

Hi everyone
It was really a good day. the rotary sound really tuned up my adrenalin. As Im new to the club, dont have a clue to see which one is driving which rotary on the track LOL Cant find anyone to talk to at the MRC stand so miss the chance to get to know someone. Look forward to meet you all at our next meet

was fantastic, 2 years ago i was seriously thinking of not going afain and i only live 20 mins from the circuit but this even has completely turned around into one of the best in my opinion. lots to see on track and off track with lotsof stands to buy things as well.

Brilliant day thanks.

Wow, I\'ve never seen a busier Japfest - which was a pain for those who planned to arrive later and hit the queues. Fantastic to see so many rotaries support the event this year. I think we had about 40 cars on the MRC stand and the RX-8 OC opposite had ~60 too.

Massive thanks to Clive and Lisa for organising everthing.

Apologies that I had very little time to get around and talk to people as it was a complete mare to get everything done in time for the first track session at 9am and then to get back and forth for the further three sessions on track.

Massive thanks to all those who went out on track - I hope you all had as much fun as I had out there and the only sad spot was the RX-7 which had a big off at Tower (no details for obvious reasons) but I understand the driver is OK and the car isn\'t too bad either. I hope we can get this confirmed shortly.

Again though; a superb day out, great weather, and in the company of so many great rotary fans :)

Thread ont other site has talked about the off.

Driver says he is fine, cage and harnesses worked as they should. Car needs new wings bonnet and bumper. Had huge citation on the straight, brakes didn\'t work, went into barrier at 80-90mph!! Aparently a Marshall found what looks like a brake caliper bolt further up the straight.

Such a shame this event is roughly a million miles away from me, would loved to have been there especially with 100 rotaries there.

shaunwil

Rotors where dotted around almost everywhere too. I bet the total could have easily got into 150 rotors easily.

Thanks guys for organising the club stand. I was pleased to have my car on display despite the niggling issues with my bodywork being done at last minute!!

Good to see some more rotary goodness, there were some very nice cars about and enjoyed hearing the Kyouto Drift RX8 and 7 sliding around Combe!!! Soo full of awesome!!! :D

Would also like to thank Keith for the compression test on me and Robs cars before we left. Nice to know my engine will be killing pistons for a while yet :P  Did think it was quite funny that someone thought we had both "flooded our engines" tho... i\'m not sure ive even flooded it once yet...

And sorry for not introducing myself to more people. Will try and socialise more at JapShow ;)

Quote from: Grant Monkhouse;823065Had huge citation on the straight.

"citation"?

So pleased to hear that driver (I know him) is OK and the damage sounds superficial. I have an in-car video of the car as it locked up and ran into the barrier. I\'d just eased off throttle and indicated for him to pass me on the straight just before that corner. I witnessed the impact and was quite worried until I went past on the next lap (the red flag didn\'t appear until I\'d passed the pit lane entry) and saw the driver, still in the car, but talking to a marshall.

Big thanks for the 2x track sessions I took part in and sorry if I inadvertently held you up :o (blue 8 with 787b livery on the roof). Was a great assortment of cars and experience.

Hope the chap in the green 7 is in good shape and that it is not too big a job getting the car restored to full health.

Cheers Stew.
