Absolutely no need to apologise Stewart, seriously. You didn\'t hold me up at all, I was more concerned when you strayed slightly onto the grass, but you got it back on the tarmac again without any problem! As long as you enjoyed your time out on track that is all the matters. Lovely to see you both again.

I\'ve spoken to the driver this evening and he\'s absolutely fine, as is his passenger. The car has been recovered to his home (~60 miles from the track) and initial indications are that the car isn\'t too badly damaged.

Hi all, a massive thank you to Clive and Lisa for organising... must have been
a nightmare... just wish the Japfest stand/track time organisers were as good.

Thanks for all the well wishing with regard to the car, we\'re going to have a
good look over her tonight to see if she needs re-shelling.  My main concern
at the time was \'feck and arse..I\'ve screwed up everybodys track time\'  I\'m
mega sorry if this was he case, the incident was completely out of my control
as the vibration got so bad coming along side Malcolm that I thought my fillings
was gunna fall out, looking at the footage from Malcolm I was braking as I came
past but I had no brakes at all until the front right suddenly locked and by that
time it was too late, we just went straight on.

A big thumbs up to the marshalls at Combe too... they were great.

Again, really sorry if I screwed all of your track time up.

Dave

PS:  I\'m not fussed if you want to show the whole footage Malcolm.

I came by to see a marshall having the required chat to you before getting you out of the car so I knew you was ok.

I\'ve been involved in many race track crashes over the years and have had many bent or written off cars but after I\'ve always focused on the fact that cars mend more easily than people

Just really pleased your ok,
All the best Clive

Just so every one knows, leading up to the event we tried again and again with the organisers to be around the other side of the circuit near the Tower chicane and told them repeatedly that if we were not there we would not have access to the back of the pits to get on and off the track.

Maybe due to the  repeated requests It could be that they punished us for pestering and put us as far from the track entrance as possible, but on a more serious note, I feel its deplorable to expect us to drive that far through crowds and crowds of people risking ruining a child over every foot of the way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not only that apologies to the people not on track because you could see very little from track side due to our location

Really feel we were let down as we have attended every Japfest as a club and without clubs like ours there would be no Japfest!
All the best Clive

For those who weren\'t aware of Dave\'s incident, here is a short clip;

(Dave, no need to apologise about messing up the track time, I was just relieved no-one was hurt, that\'s ALL that matters!)

well my day was a complete waste of time!!

left at 4.30 in the morning with a 3 hour drive to the show, all excited about my first show of the year and i got to the roundabout that says castle combe 4 miles at 7.30 on the dot!!!  and thats where it all went wrong!! 5 and a half hours later and i was still sat in traffic a mile away from the event and still not moving, so at 1 oclock i finally called it a day and headed home on my 3 hour return journey so in total 11 and a half hours sat in my car for absolutly nothing, what a waste of time and money!! not a happy bunny!! :(:(:(

even when i left there were cars still sat there right back to the roundabout and beyond in all directions with no chance of getting in before the show finished.

glad to see those of you that got there had a good time!! maybe i\'ll see you lot at the next show

bloody hell...didnt realize that bad half hour must have made all the difference! It\'s purely the infrastructural roads my mates all got in round the back coming through Castle Combe village. Its happened before for Japfest i\'ve queue myself hours so the organisers need to learn from this......inside was awful as well......so many people, trying to get your car to the pitlane was a joke.....I nearly missed 1 session and had to join mid session and 2 occasions I was shouted at driving through the crowds.

outside and inside needs sorting for next year

Very very sorry to hear this, I was told a couple of FD\'s simply gave up :(

Please could you post this exact post on Japfests face book page please as they really need to know of your plight :reallymad

For those that don\'t know defo take the back route into the circuit, still have
to queue but no where near as bad but it\'s been like this for years now and
nothing is done so I assume there IS nothing they can do about it, it WAS
worse this year due to the sun actually shining I think.:cool

Kodiak

Left Swindon at about 8:15 thinking it didn\'t start for the public till 9:00 so we\'d get there just in time. 4 hours later sat in traffic down some country lane thinking "I can just about hear tyres squealing...".

Sorry to Lisa and Casey for missing my track time. We were stuck out in the middle of nowhere with some lads in a Civic behind us from Lithuania! :eek

Saw a couple in a blue RX8, I believe they\'re well known on here ;), down from the Morrisons round about get out and start cleaning it.

Beautiful gold SA22c driving around the area and then parked up outside the Event?

With the FC not playing ball the night before it gave me an excuse to bring the girlfriend and daughter which was nice however the heat and the queuing Elise (the sprog) wasn\'t playing ball for the few hours we spent actually inside the gates.

Who had the black T2 on the MRC stand and what is your pillar gauge pod please? :chat

And, Boosted, does your other half post about your FD and Colt on Pistonheads?

Couldn\'t quite believe how quick Clive was in the 8 despite the lack of engine noise emanating from it. Was brilliant to see his braking getting later and later (AFTER THE HUMP!) lap after lap during the second RX8OC session. Phenomenal.

Two chaps in a fairly standard looking (aesthetically) FD passed us (Green Mazda2)  on the M4 which I saw later on the stand with a very polished engine bay.

All in all, Lovely Track (and local), Great Stand, Shame about the queues. :Thumbs-up

Is Facebook the right communication channel - loads of people (including me) have complained on there and not even a proper apology has been made.

After reading people\'s experiences I think the issue was that if, like me, you followed the official AA signs then you were looking at over three hours to queue even if you got there early. Many people got in quicker using alternative routes and back roads.

If I had missed track time or not got in at all I would be pretty hacked off - I still can\'t believe they charged us full price to get in, even at 2pm!

Yay! :rollin

I should point out that I was cleaning it - Neil was playing on his iPad!

You might be in this photo then - the postie behind us got out at least three times for a fag. We gave up at about 11am and went back to the Little Chef for some brunch and a wee! Thought we\'d give it time to clear but set off again at midday and still took another two hours to get in.

Whilst I\'m sorry you took so long to get in, real pleased you enjoyed the day.

p.s. I was bedding in and testing some experimental front Racing Brake brake pads which I now wish I had fitted in the earlier sessions as they found me a good 2-3 seconds a lap :D
