What torque/hp is it rated at?

Pip rang the Gleb gearbox company for me as he knows the owner, apparenly that make around 100 kts for these boxes a year.

Ratio's will be /
2.43-1.56-1.24-1.00-0.9 

Grant, not sure but Pip has experiance with these boxes and said well over 600 brake is not a problem.
A bit of research shows these boxes are used in Cosworth's and Mustangs in stock form so torque will not be a problem also this is stronger than stack as it has straight dog gears/
When you have a dog set its always stonger as the gears are beefier because they dont have to make room for syncros and baulk  rings,

Found a calculator at   https://www.blocklayer.com/rpm-gear.aspx  using 25.81 inches for tyre diameter that gives same numbers as calculated above.

Yep, those gearboxes are actually quite good.

But you have to get short shifter kit in it

Unless you want to sponser me, I cant stretch to a sequential box 

Picked the box up today, just need a good machinist to modify the RX8 bellhousing

Steve you have heard this before "No good hiding" 

Found out today that the Mustang and the Cosworth T5 boxes are different with the Mustang box I have bought being the stronger of the two.
Quite nostalgic to be using a Mustang box, mind you my Mustang Drag car ran a T10 box back in 1980 not one of these new fangled boxes.

How are you fixing it to the bell housing? An adapter or wled and re drill?

I suppose you shall need a new clutch too? Different input shaft?

Iv seen a fair few guys with dog boxes have strain gauges which help with ignition cut for a flat shift might be worth looking into in the long run?

Yes you just need to find a GOOD machinist now,,,,, dont know any good ones I'm afraid.........

There's probably lots of other companies selling short shift kits for the T5 but these two sprang to mind, burton's products are normally perfectly good, but I bought all my cosworth parts from Graham Goode and have to say their products are first class,

Going to be a while yet Grant,
Got to get my car stripped first to get the bellhousing to start mocking up but thats in a couple of weeks time.

Big list of things to do over the winter to start making the car competative for 2021

March 27th/28th Silverstone is the first race, but the cars got to be ready before that to go testing with all the mods that are planned.
