Had a good look and have got off real light,

The sumps OK and the radiator, so just the nose to buy and paint and my old mate Steve to make the splitter and winglets

BTW if you look at  the grass, look at the black stain while the grass cleaned the oil off the underside of the car  :))

Cool...half my splitter, wing vent and bumper reflector are under the tyres at  Camp corner.
Any mud in oil coolers?

No all is OK,

Here's a link from Tony Hunters car where you will see me go rallycrossing and eventually Tony's crash
Clearly with a huge lack of power due to the constant misfire, it still wasn't going bad before the off.

I would never make fun of anyone's misfortune, but there's an element of irony in that video in Tony Hunters car

There's a sticker on the dashboard that says " Trimex mowing systems"

Ouch, surely that's season over?

Unless people have a spare car........

I know drivers are supposed to stay on the black, but things happen.

There shouldn't be a ditch, a grass run off yes,  is there such a thing as racing insurance where you can make a claim for insufficient run off.

Lets say for instance you were nudged, you go down the ditch, and you're out of pocket.

Had the ditch not been there, you could have coasted back on.

It's very harsh

Your right Jamie, had the ditch not been there it would have been just a hiccup  not a wreck.

In that split second, I really did not think straight lining would be a problem , had I known about the infamous ditch I would have risked spinning or whatever  :-[

Shame is, had I not decided to soften the rear, it would not have happened, clicked my rear shocks back up on my EDFC on the dash and the handling came back.

As for the misfire I am wondering if where the boost is all wrong it just messed the map up, Pip rang yesterday and feels that the engine is fine and just needs the ECU looking at.

Once I change the gear box (reverse gear broke ) I will get it back up to Cheshire and see whats wrong.

For insurance, never known any one who's had it, so no ideas of cost but yes you could get insurance.

Forgive my ignorance on the matter.

Having been to Combe to watch you, its clear that its not a cheap interest. I know its not BTCC but still some serious $$$ around the paddock.

For people who are new to the series, may not have sponsorship to help fund their racing, to have their hard efforts destroyed by a ditch. grrrr

..... I dunno, maybe im over thinking it.

You can get track day and race insurance by a specialist policy. Reis is 1 such company...
My mate years ago was actually sponsored by them...his car was all stickered up, he had race insurance as part of the deal.
Other road policies can add trackday insurance where 6 days a year are incuded.
Most people dont bother however its expensive and certain tracks are a greater risk than other....like combe, most wont insure the place as minimal run off.
I enquired once they never rang me back....lol

Fair point.

A demarcation barrier / Armco is one thing.....the ground layout / site etc governs that, and thankfully most have tyre walls at the "high risk" areas

You need it for spectator control and safety, if you hit the tyre wall.....well that's racing I guess. Spectators and drivers are safe.

Ditches in a run off area can be and should be avoided when you see the level of damage its creates. Its p*ss poor maintenance on the behalf of the organisers at Mallory. If its required for drainage, build a proper drain.

That proton looks like it hit a trench not a ditch and Pike and the rest of Dads Army could have been climbing out of it  :))

This was posted up to show how nicely we can play off the start even with a full grid.

This one below really show what can happen when you get it really wrong going onto the straight at Mallory !
