Sounds like a right rip snorting animal on full chat.

I like how you start to do the wave of acknowledgement 10 metres before you've got to the car in front knowing it will still be up at that speed haha.

If I ever get this 4 wheeled plastic pig finished and make it to a track day, not only do I need to learn a new driving style, but I need to control the red mist. More pills that day I think lol

the old BTCC isn't shy of trading paint lol

Make the BTCC drivers pay for their damage and i expect you see a lot less leaning on cars to get round corners....dont get me wrong its a great spectator sport but if these guys drove like that any club level events there licenses would be ripped off them....saying that id love to have ago!!! would be great to try out a pitman manouever on somebody...with my car fully funded by a manufacturer.

Damn Christine is fast! Nice!

Umm, what kind of turbo you are using?

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Pip ended up up changing his mind at the last minute just before the Turbo was built, so even I don't  know what ended up in the back of the Turbo.

It was like a need to know basis, and I didn't need to know, I just relied on Pip understanding what I needed from the car which has so far proved correct :great:

Ok, I see.

Well, just curious. Cause that turbo is basically same as mine, they are sister versions...

That S means kind of that those housings, frame and basic compoments are Shwitzers. 300 is somekind of size.

Mine is S300 with 60mm compressor and 67mm turbine...

Well its been a busy week for Christine on the build up to Brands next Sunday.

At the Castle Coombe track day she was shakin all over at 7500 rpm and above down the straight !  turns out the water pipe came off through vibration.

Changed the rear wheels, just in case it was balancing and it made no difference.

Next up, I found a piece of Kazz diff in the diff oil and it looked a bit "metallicey" so it must have been the diff causing the  vibration right, no WRONG  :angry5:.

On Sunday, Boston  Pete brought a low mileage 4.3 down from guess where, all the way from Boston  ;). Spent the day on Monday changing the diff and yes it made a difference but there was still enough vibration at 7500 rpm for me not to race the car  :-[

Next up, gear box oil dropped and found no issues there even though the 5 speed RX-8 box has lived in the car for two years now.

Next, tried a different prop-shaft, still no difference.

Then a rush of brains to the head led me to take the wheels off and run the car up in gear again up on axle stands and no vibration  :13:

I put the wheels back on but this time with hub hubcentric rings fitted and no vibration, so it means Christine can go to the ball (Brands Hatch)  :wee_hee:

Time Table below.

Thatll do it, and take wheel bearings out to...people say the hub centric rings are purely for locating the wheels and the nuts studs centralise but im not so sure. I sold my mate an impreza years ago with 12 months mot, he fitted some aftermarket wheels without spigot rings/hubcentric rings...2months later im fitting x2 wheel bearing...and ordered him the correct rings...
Is it this Sunday? Im off mmmm....
