Interior
- Factory standard including the driver’s knee and elbow rest. The elbow rest was an option for the Japanese non smokers. The flare is also still present in the passenger foot well. Also the car is lucky enough to have the tool kit inc the spark plug removing tool and luggage strap.

The Mazda rx-7 was one of the most well received GT cars to come out of Japan in the 90’s and rightly so up until production ended in 2002. My rx-7 has been maticusly maintained by myself as I’m a very keen rotary enthusiast and this is my second rx-7 and certainly will not be my last. These cars have a bad reputation as unfortunately the market has been flooded with cheap cars that are either high mileage or badly repaired in Japan and sold on cheap at auction. Sadly these great cars then fall in the hands of people who do not have any mechanical sympathy.

I’m more than happy for an independent compression test to be carried out or I can have it done in front of you. It was tested after I had driven 8000km after its rebuild in august last year and the results are in the pictures above.

The engine was rebuilt by Speedline imports who I purchased the car from in February 2011. I can highly recommend Speedline imports and Martin is someone I would be more than happy to purchase another car from in the future. This rx-7 even has all the service stickers that include the km’s stamps on the driver’s door showing the prospective buyer that it was very well looked after in Japan and I have kept these as it adds a great deal to the authenticity of the car.

I have carried out some basic modifications to the engine to help it breath as the 13b rotary engine responds very well to exhaust and induction filter modifications. While removing the cat I also removed the air pump and fitted an idler pulley kit as the under drive kit more commonly used slips at higher revs on the water pump pulley, this is very bad for the rotary engine. The radtec radiator was installed as I know that the rotary engine runs hot and keeping it cool is a must. The air-conditioning was removed mainly to aid airflow across the radiator as for some reason Mazda designed the condenser to sit in front of the small standard radiator.  The fuel filter has also been replaced and the car will be mapped by before sale.

I have replaced all the brake discs for ferrodo grooved discs and DS2500 pads. While carrying this out I found that the front drivers side shock absorber was leaking slightly so I replaced the suspension all round with a set of GAZ coilovers that are both height and damping adjustable.

I have a comprehensive spares package that can also be included in the sale of the car including more service items and OEM parts as well as a set of Racing Beat LS-R split rims 17x9j fronts and 17x10j rears that are due back from the refurbishers later this week for an additional £650.  The car will be sold on standard 16x8j wheels or I can include the set of Desmond regamaster’s with Toyo 888’s for an additional £1300 that it currently sits on. These are 17x9j fronts and 17x10j rear.

Please do not hesitate to get in contact with me to arrange a viewing but I must stress that the car will only be available for a test drive upon receipt of valid fully comprehensive insurance.
