Was supposed to be taking the car for an MOT today but i can\'t get her started? I tried to take her out the other night and she wouldn\'t either so i assumed it was a flat battery as she\'s been sat for a few weeks, after charging that up all night and connecting it up this morning she still won\'t start. I can hear the starter motor but she won\'t fire up, i guess a good place to start would be the spark plugs is that right?

Any other ideas? I assume after trying to start her a few times now i\'ve probably flooded the engine too as i could smell fuel after trying to start her this morning, is this solved the same way on the T2 as it is an EGi? Removing that fuse underneath the d/s dash?

Any help would be great, thanks. :reallymad

Could just be flooded.  If the battery is fully charged try the following:

1)  Pull the bottom 2 spark plugs (one from each rotor)
2) Pull the EGI fuse in the engine bay
3) With your foot on the throttle, turn the ignition key to start and let it run for about 20-30 seconds
4) Wait a little (20 secs) and repeat the 3) one or two more times.
5) Now remove the top 2 plugs as well and clean all 4 plugs, making sure you connect the HT leads back in the correct order - (the bottom 2 plugs are connected together, so can be connected either way, but the ignition coil has L1 and L2 stamped on the plastic mould - L1 is front rotor, L2 is rear - Connect Trailing plug wires - the coil nearest the front of the car feeds the front rotor)
6) Pop the EGI fuse back in
7) Provided tbe battery is still healthy, try cranking it again, get ready to press the throttle to catch it if she fires.

I\'ll try this, this afternoon. I remember moving her on the drive the other week, so she could well be flooded. Thanks a lot Prof.

I seem to be missing my plug socket, not doing very well today.

i found it easier using the one supplied in the little tool kit , makes it sooo much easier

a normal socket and ratchet is rather tricky .. esp when the abs gets in the way aswell

Yeah the spark socket seems to be missing from my socket set, probably in England casually sitting there gathering dust. Feeling all alone because the rest of the socket set is in Cyprus, I went to get one but beleive it or not there are 2 different sizes of socket connection... And you all know how the rest of it goes. I brought the wrong one of course.

My savior friend came over and helped me out, she\'s all up and running agian now. Gonna get a new set of sparks though when i\'m back in the UK next month.

It was indeed flooded, but all sorted now :D

Mot on Monday.

Brett

Get the battery on charge tonight, just in case - a good charge will help out a lot if the plugs are suspect :)

I\'ve been out in her today and the other night everything seems fine now, i charged the battery the other night.! It flooded because I moved her on/off the drive the other day which in hindsight I won\'t be doing again, I did think when I was doing it that it wasn\'t a good idea but needs must. Hopefully mot will be plain sailing other than the 2 rear tyres she needs.

Check this out... I cannot have my car MOT tested, until I have paid the import duties. Obviously in Cyprus paying the import tax is more important than road safety :Giggle

glad she\'s still running well buddy, I just got myself an FD so back in the rx club!

Good man, she\'s fine indeed except for some rear tyres ;)

Good to see you back in a rotary, what happened to the s2000 and the 32 GTR?
