Soooo.... just thought I\'d check in and see what I\'d need to do if I want to watch the F1 this year.

I have Virgins top TV package... if I want to add F1 to that is £22.50 EXTRA a month.  :rollin:rollin :censored:

If F1 is the only sport you watch then i feel your pain.

But if you like watching the pinnacle of any sport, its only ever going to end up on Sky, eventually. Lets put it like this, if WRC ever got popular again, it would end up on Sky sports and really, you could partially blame the low numbers down to the pathetic coverage it gets!

I enjoy sport, football, golf, cricket etc so its a no brainer for me!

Plus the coverage you get is just superb :)

I have virgin. Didn\'t know it was going to be extra £22 to watch f1. They just put my bill up by 2.50 but also said I could lower it by gettin ebill and direct debit, which I already have. My total cost is about £45 month. I think I could get a sky package for less.
For the record, wrc or f1?

WRC for me

I hated losing my Virginity when I moved to Milton Keynes a couple of years ago. :Giggle  My biggest gripe being only two tuners in Sky boxes - my Virgin had three and it wasn\'t even HD!

Just last night I\'m watching this Gossip Girl 100th episode they have been advertising to death on ITV2 (don\'t normally watch it) but no - I get the annoying programme clash with ANTM / Whitechapel! No chance of watching embarrasing bodies then (well actually we kept the old Sky box so could techincally do all four but that\'s not the point).

But when the F1 TV advert came up a few weeks ago and said \'if you\'re watching this you can get the F1 channel for free\' all was forgiven. Saw some previews at the Sky stand in MK at the weekend and it does look really good (if you like F1). :Thumbs-up

And I will also conceed that Sky Go and the Sky+ app on my iPhone are also very useful.  :wiggle

Prefer WRC, but the coverage is so poor and lack of manufacturing interest is denting its appeal imho.

If you\'ve got Sky HD with all the sports and movies it now £65 a month!
Thats a lot of tv you\'d have to watch to make it worth while... or to make it sound better, just 6 films a month at the cinema (minus any sort or food or drink bought there, dont even get me started on the price of popcorn!!!)

I\'ll be getting the F1 channel. Just hope the coverage is as good as the BBC last year :D

F1 is part of the Sky HD package, no need for Sky sports (lets see if it\'s the same next year).

I get Sky Sports F1 because I\'ve got Sky Sports HD on my Sky.  I think it\'s pretty cool but it\'s not £22.50 a month cool!

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

I thought it was still being shown, just not live, or some of the races will be or something like that! Not that much help really :Giggle

Ricco_04

The races that bbc show as a highlighted version will be on the iplayer as a highlighted version.

The bbc won awards for the f1 coverage and it was by far the best coverage I have seen - what a shame they go and dump half of it!

Guess ill have to find a good pub to watch those - although not sure what the landlord will think of me knocking on the door in the early am to watch the Australian gp!!

kevint

BBC will show live coverage of 10 of the races, for the rest they will show extended highlights later in the day (afternoon for early morning races, evening for afternoon races).  I succumbed to Sky Sports several years ago, Sky dramatically improved live football coverage all those years ago, lets see what they can do for F1.
