Can I ask those who experienced the hotel we stayed at last year (The Sandhurst), and who experienced the charismatic (I think that\'s the word ) Cypriot lady owner, whether you\'d be happy to stay there again, or would prefer me to look at alternatives. At least it was an improvement on the Tarporley hotel we stayed in the year before!

Malcolm, it was interesting and I may be willing to stay there again, but on the understanding the owner allows me to stay in the main house/hotel and not the annex !

OK, I finally got a few minutes to put up some more detailed information about this trackday.

The event will be managed via Mazdaontrack, who will be in attendance on the day.

Are you a newcomer to trackdays? As on all trackdays, they are well managed and marshalled. There will be a comprehensive, compulsory, safety briefing at the start of the day for all drivers, followed by some slow “sighting laps” behind a lead car. There will be plenty of experienced trackheads present who will be only too happy give assistance to any novices. This is an awesome track - have a look at these threads for previous outings via these links (which are on the RX8OC forum);

Provisional timings for the day are:
Sign On 7:30 till 8:30
Safety Briefing 08.30
Sighting Laps at 9:00
Lunch break 12:00 – 13:00
Finish - 16.00

Event Type: Open Pitlane.
“Open Pitlane” means you are free to drive on the circuit when you like, for as much as you like, subject to safe numbers on circuit. If you have a standard RX-8, then expect to get about 10-15 minutes on track with around 20-30 minutes to “cool-off”, else you, your engine, tyres and brakes will overheat! No idea about what punishment the RX-7\'s can take, but I\'m gueesing something similar if not race prepped.

Getting there;
Situated next to Little Budworth and is best accessed from the A54 or the A49. From the north take junction 19 off the M6 and follow the A556 through Northwich towards Chester, from the south leave the M6 at junction 18 and follow the A54.

Circuit Statistics:
Length: 2.7 miles
Corners:  11
Max Noise: 105dB Static, 92dB drive by at 20m

THE COST?: The cost for this event is £169. However, if anyone is a fully paid up member of the MRC then the club shop is offering places with a discount of £20 “up-front”, so pay £149.
PAYMENT FOR THIS EVENT: Payment can be made via the RX8OC or MRC club shops. MRC Club Shop Link
REQUIREMENTS: Helmets are required, and you MUST bring along your driving license (both parts if you have them) on the day for inspection.
EXTRA DRIVERS: £30.
PASSENGERS: £10.
GARAGES: Included.
INSURANCE: Insurance is not compulsory, but your normal road insurance is unlikely to cover you. Specialist trackday insurance is available, ask if you need further details.
INSTRUCTION: Mazda on Track have professionally qualified instructors available; £25 for one session (~20mins on track). These can be booked in advance, or on the day.
LOCAL ACCOMMODATION: Some people may want to stay locally the night before, the night after, or even both! Details of the recommended hotel(s) will be posted soon.

Should be up for this, will check timings and get it booked. If you haven\'t been for a while Oulton now has drive by noise limits, I was there on Saturday and got black flagged twice for 107 and 108 on drive by but I pass the static test (just). They only let me back on as I have an extra silencer I can fit.
