I have brought and fitted the RE-Amemiya Hood a few days ago,

The final scoop torwards on the buttom left act leaks water thru and all over the battery when raining of car wash, would this effect the battery or is it best to relocate to the boot?

When I had this bonnet I use to put a heavy duty plastic sheet under the gaps if the car was being left out in the elements for a while (not on a warm engine though!). It would drain the water out without soaking anything, used it for hand washing the car also.

I think I fashioned a battery cover in the end.

Do FD\'s not have battery boxes & lids that protect the battery from general crud and stuff from the engine bay? You could put up a wanted thread for one?

I know ones for the FC are rare as hens teeth, but ones for the FD might be a bit easier to obtain?

Thats a good idea for the battery cover (you would need the sides too so it can clip firmly into place)  I have that setup and have no problems with the electrics :)  (although I also have the rain trays)

I have a battery box for my FC, didnt realise they where rare. They must have all beed disposed of over the years :o

In the short term get some copper slip from local Motor Factors and cover the terminals of the battery to stop corrosion. My old VX220 had an open engine cover and water would get in the spark plugs wells via the coilpacks. I just slung an old rubber car mat underneath when parked up! Maybe a smaller rear 1 would suffice....but don\'t forget to remove it when driving!!!

Lovely blue colour and lush bonnet by the way, Mines Montego blue and only really nice when the suns out.....

From what I saw on Tues it isn\'t a standard battery.

Car looks tremendous in the flesh! Saw it parked up at Andy\'s on Tuesday. All I\'ve done since is search for FD bargains :Giggle

It came with rain trays but sometimes can just get all over the battery,  but guess i will relocate it sometimes if i got big plans later....
