Hi here are some pics for anyone who is interested in a cobra diff set up

I am making a mounting set up that will mount the ford diff properly into a fd subframe , it will not be a bolt in as the subframe will need to extra strength in it to be right . It is a complete new back plate rather than mounting tags that bolt over the old plate using FD poly bushes or solid

holy crap, looks awesome, but how much weight are you adding with that beast?

tinker-27

Not weighted it yet but it\'s a ally casing not steel like a FD diff so might even be lighter !!
And no power frame as well , so don\'t think weight is a problem , I can make them out of thinner gauge metal if people are worried about weight and don\'t have the power to bend  stuff .

Do you think you will be able to offer the diffs and driveshafts as a package or do we need to source them ourselves?

tinker-27

I\'m not going to get the diffs and drive shafts , you can get them from the drive shaft shop in the us , they do all the shafts etc and props

hayden

Is it wise to mount the diff off the cover?

tinker-27

Well that\'s ford do it , what do they know !!

That\'s the Samberg frame. I\'ve got the Samberg brace for the Mazda diff and it\'s pulled one bolt out with the threads. Worn diff bushes didn\'t help but the design could be better. For now I\'ve drilled up through the floor and bolted inside the car under the seat squab.

What are all the inlets and outlets for?

To run a diff cooler?

Did you find any of those plugs I need?

tinker-27

They are  for a cooler on this one ,
I am not mounting as he does as it won\'t hold , the tags are no where near strong enough, they hang on three bolts on each side on the rear and the tags at the front . I am welding new parts into the subframe to support  it better .
Sorry not had chance to find the plugs yet but I should have them somewhere , ring me tomorrow and remind me cheers craig

You got pricing for this yet?

Will you be welding the rear subframes on an exchange basis or would we just have to get our own to you?
